another Rolex question, off topic. Do all Rolex watches have the thick crystal that sits higher than the bezel? I see A LOT of watches that do not have a thick crystal and assumed they were fake.

i think the model that you are referring to is the sea dweller its 39mm if im correct. and yes the crystal sits about 1.5mm above the bezel.

no, I am referring to all models. Do they all have a crystal that is higer than the bezel?

Probably referring to the"cyclops" magnification for the date window. Not all have it but there are ones that have it and are 100% genuine.

this is not a difficult question, so don't over analyse it. "do all Rolex watches have a crystal that protrudes above the height of the bezel"? Example, when you look at a Sub, you can see the glass, not the cyclops, is "higher" than the bezel.

I know what youre talking about. IIRC, when looking at the new sub and GMTIIc the other day, both had crystals that sat very slightly above the bezel.

The crystal on my Milgauss sat slightly higher than the bezel

I have seen the "thick" crystal on almost every model. So it's safe to assume that if the crystal does not protrude about 1.5mm above the bezel for all Rolexes, then it is a fake? If that's the case then theis are A LOT of fake Rolies out there.

I think that's about as unavoidable as death and taxes, regardless of whether or not the crystal thickness is an indicator of authenticity.

Im no Rollie expert, but 1.5mm seems a bit much. The ones ive seen are above the crystal, but definitely not 1.5mm.
