Thanks spiderer, looks great and a bit more "settled" than the original. Its amazing how you made the bezel more flat/matte than the original picture. Its also much sharper than the original, one can see a greater level of detail on the dial around the day/date area. We have to give props to JacksonStone who most definitely has an eye for these things

I am a bit busy at work at the moment but I intend to practice some more in the next coming days and narrow it down to one pic that I will share with you guys here and you can provide me with your critique.

Thanks,

ok, here is another amateur try  I am not too happy with it. What do you guys think? I think I have to get better lighting or shoot during the day and not at night...

Lighting is key. The setting is pretty ingenious, but try existing light during the day. And, I'll just note my envy at your ability to get Cohibas.

Yes, I think the lighting setup at night is not helping me. I will try some today during the day as you point out. I am also just doing very minimal adjustments in photoshop, mostly highlight, contrasts, brightness, sharpen, etc. I figure if I master those functions, then I can build on a solid foundation and move towards adjusting colors, which I think requires more of an expert eye.

Got to love the Cohiba Esplendidos :D When I used to live back in Toronto and Montreal going to Cuba for vacation was really cheap. Once there you can load up on fine cuban cigars for reasonable prices. I can't wait for better weather here so I can sit outside and enjoy one. The thing is they take a long time to smoke so you have to ensure optimal company and surroundings to enjoy properly. Well, and a nice glass of single malt wouldn't hurt

Why enjoy one when you can enjoy four?

Maybe I'm mistaken but I see two on the right and one the left. Are my eyes playing games?

Each woman, whom I respect only for her mind, appears to have one cigar in her mouth. The cigar on the right is casting a shadow on the wall behind it. Is that what you're seeing?

Yep guess you're right, should be a shadow, her mouth isn't open enough for two.
