Not at all - the actual time portion of the dial is pretty unclutterd - a simple 2 register chrono without contrasting color subs. Much easier than the Navis in my experience. In fact I haven't noticed a difference between legibility of the Skyracer or Steelfish for instance.

I agree, always liked the dial(s) on the Skyracers for readability, thick markers and hands. I know they aren't too bad for diameter size (43.5 mm), how do you find the thickness and weight for your tastes?

Does it wear any more stable than the Steelfish? (had trouble with the SF being so top heavy).

Congrats again on your new/old pick up! :D .

Although it is 16mm thick it has a fairly shallow and flat caseback, so it sits down on the wrist nicely. I pretty much have to use a strap on a Steelfish for stability, but the Skyracer is quite different.

Thanks Tom. That's kind of how I remember the Skyracer fitting also. It's been a while since I've tried one on but it seemed to be a little better/more stable than the SF. The black-eye-gray dial was starting to catch my eye. Hmmm.... .

You're right Tom. And your Skyracer looks stunning in that combo.

The strap doesn't seem virgin treated though, is it?

No, the tan color is a favorite of mine for white dials. Also use an untreated brown croco. The darkening was just for the black dial.

But feel free to send any spare virgins my way and we will see what we can do. :)

Tom, quick question, where's the best place online to buy tools so I can change my Breitling straps myself?

Thanks,

I use mywatchmaker.net for the Bergeon 6767F tool (and the after market deplyants I prefer to the Breitling one).

Of you can go here - http://www.ofrei.com/page252.html#3102

Sharkman, I wish I could be more like you in this respect. I moved two Breitling's over the past four years and if I could I would buy them back in a minute. I have this tendency with most of the things I collect, I have a stack of old audio equipment in their original packaging in my attic that are outdated and NOT classic. Have to work on moving stuff and moving on.
Beautiful watch, oddly, I have never held one of these. Hope you hang on to it now that you have it back.
Best health, Frank.
