Ok, cheers for the info, interesting.

The black one was on ebay in July 2010, and they still showed the stripe model at Baselworld 2011 (and on current website) ? Im only basing my question on these observations but can you tell me how you know it is 100% the replacement for the stripe model ? cheers !

OK an update on this and can I clarify before I start that is MY OWN PERSONAL OPINION which does not mean its fact its just WHAT I THINK.

I feel Breitling is moving back toward lumed dials if you look back at the models that have been released recently.

The reason for the aerospace going back is one of the big selling points for the Advantage was the backlight and increased size, However it was a bit of a failure as the stupid idea of turning the crown to activate the light makes it a step back from the simple push of the crown to activate the b1s, So i think Breitling are trying to go back to the roots of this model and relume the dials, Most of the people that like the Aerospace agree that the best dial ever was the lumed italics on the early models so why not recreate that look now, I don't think they will be in the chronologs yet as they still have too many of the old dials lying around and if they bring out the new dial now they would need to heavily discount them.

To back up my theory on this the watch on ebay came direct from BUK in late 2010 not an AD so that would be brand new made not a old stock from an AD.

Or I could be totally wrong and it could be a one off

The watch on e-bay that the OP refers to is the latest generation E7936210, the '10' is the indicator that this is a new iteration. If you're interested it's here: Link removed by Roff

As Sonyman stated, the watch was supplied direct by BUK, as a replacement for a 80191 (an early Pluton/Navitimer 3100). As those movements are obselete, Breitling tend to offer a nice reduction on a new similar model when one of those turns up for repair or service.

I've managed to find a couple of references to this newer version. In both cases below, the retailer refers to the "New design in a larger size with Professional II Titanium bracelet. Luminous Hands & Hour Markers. Backlighting (NVG compatible - works with Night Vision Goggles)."

See here: http://www.gemnation.com/watches/Breitl ... -2698.html

And here: http://www.prestigetime.com/item/Breitl ... 2-1cd.html

It's my listing on the 'bay, so excuse the plug, but the OP did want some clarification :D . I hope that explains it.

And by the way, it's unworn, still in factory seals, Box/Papers etc etc, still has 18m BUK Warranty, and advertised at nearly a grand off list! Since I'm looking to get funds in for a Herc, I will also listen to (very reasonable) offers.

Sorry Roff, the OP was referring to it, and it seemed to make sense to let members see what he referred to.

Not a problem - they'll find it if interested.

The black one from July 2010 was also direct from Breitling UK, Its interesting, and Im only expressing my personal opinion too ! but I think the dial is a limited run of the old model ! I dont see them

1. going back to the old face at all (I do prefer the old one)
2. so fast after the 'new' (striped) one
3. showing a watch at 2011 Baselworld that wasnt the current model or on the website (bearing in mind that the black model in the first pic is at the very least from Mid 2010).

Ill gladly be wrong on all these points, there should be an easy way to get a definitive answer (definitely not my local AD's though as they wouldn't have a clue).

The white one in your original post appears to have a Pro II with plastic on it. If thats the original bracelet, it would have to be newer than 2007-ish.

Interesting point of view sonyman.

I really like that new (i.e. old-style) dial with the lumed-numerials on that Aerospace. The flat dial really works in terms of it being a pure tool watch - dare I say a proper instrument for professionals. Although why the 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10 and 11 markers aren't fully lumed is anyone's guess!

I've taken a snap of the Dial, showing the Lumed numbers, and with the NVG-Compatible Backlight in action - take a look!
