Nice. I need to network with a professional photographer - maybe trade legal advice for his picture taking. Then I could post them as my own. :strummin:

Alex, good shots, and great creativity of settings. I especially like the Veuve Cliquot shot. The more you play around with Photoshop, the more you'll get the hang of it. I've had the program for years, and I'm still learning the finer points of it.

Thanks spiderer and JacksonStone for the support. I'm learning and there's lots of improvement to be had, all about trial and error I guess. One thing is for sure, looking at the pictures that get posted on here is very inspiring!

No, great shots Alex. I prefer the second shot, very nice contrast of colors. Difficult to make a pick though.

Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work.

I'll clarify what I meant by way of some constructive criticism. Please keep in mind, I don't consider myself an expert at all; mine is just a perspective from someone who's been dinking around with photography and Photoshop for a number of years now. Alex, I think the settings and composition of your photos are great - very creative and visually interesting. And that's the most important thing - if you get the basic elements in the shot, the rest can be tweaked later. I think some of the shots have focus issues, as well as some overdone elements in Photoshop. For instance, photo 3 has too much cyan for my taste, and 3 and 4 have too much contrast and/or black levels, such that we lose the finer detail in the Montblanc case. I think the Veuve Clicquot shot nails it - great focus, good use of depth of field, awesome color balance. Of course, this is my opinion, and totally subjective. I'd be willing to bet the other shots, reworked a few times in Photoshop would be great, so this isn't a ding against your photo skills at all.

Here's one I just tweaked a tad. It's a subjective call if it's an improvement. I just wanted to sharpen it up and make it pop more. Reworking it from the original jpeg, as opposed to reworking an already altered image, would have been more effective, but whatever.

See? It's all subjective. The one shot I said nailed it, he wants to work on.

Since I can't give you photography advise, here's an english idiom to file away for what I think you meant - "nothing ventured, nothing gained."
