Yea he is a good guy, he voluntarily served for his country, and she seems like a good hearted person.....my frustration was with the constant media blitz we had to endure here in the states for the past 45+ days with daily updates on the wedding. It was a fairy tail day I'm sure but I don't get the amount of coverage it received. It was overkill to the n'th degree. To me it was just a wedding and didn't need all the pomp n' circumstance. I don't feel that is cynicism.

Yeah, well I guess that's a fair comment. As I say, the press seem to massively overdo these sort of things, and I can totally understand people outside of the UK not really seeing what all the fuss is about. To be fair, it didn't deserve quite the hype it got even over here, but ultimately they seem like a couple of decent people so I hope it works out for them.

I watched every minute of the wedding with my family and raised a glass to the couple. Could not care less if this is cool or not, it makes a nice change having down to earth royals 8)

I wish them all the luck in the world for their marriage

I dont understand the whole royal deal (being a yank) but if the UK folks feel patriotism or a warm fuzzy feeling its fine with me. Sure glad William's mother was able to give a sense of humility and common folk to her boys before she died.

Now what is the real deal on the royals? The queen doesn't really have any ruling power does she?

2nd in line (behind Charles) but who's counting? I didn't think he was that ugly. He was in Australia and NZ recently after the floods and earthquake and made a lot of friends by being really down to earth and genuine. Seems like a pretty good bloke (strange family tho). But ****** says it was an Omega Seamaster Pro. I'm a little surprised.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if Charles never gets to be king and it goes straight to William. I know a guy who served in the armed forces for a while with William and apparently he's really nice down to earth bloke you could quite easily have a beer with. Plus he's in line for the thone and just married a top quality bird too - some guys get all the luck.

sure.....but is he a mod on breitling source??? i think not! :poke: :D

I think its kinda cool. Gives us a glimpse of the past and how things were before. Nice to see some traditions are still around. Also, it helps that she is really really really hot. Hope I can get a wife like that someday

Wish them all the best in their future life together and remember folks, there was a time when the sun never sat on the British Empire.

Spot on good chap. I think this whole thing has been a very interesting look at the tradition and pageantry of the monarchy.

The new couple could not come across more genuine and normal. I don't even want to think about the asshole I would be in the same position. I would def be more Harry than Will. That dude knows whats up.

Anyhow, here's wishing them a happy honeymoon from a new fan of the royal family. (before all the wedding hubbub I never gave the royals a second thought)

According to the Omega forums, he's been wearing that same watch for years now. What's bad, though, is that I think it's the mid size version.

Amen, They had some piece on the news about these old ladies who planned a sleepover to wake up at 3 am and get dolled up to watch a tv. WTF?

I am sure they are equally amazed when we go out of our way to make time to go to a bar, get dressed up in our team colors, maybe even get a face paint, and start shouting at a TV screen.

Its all about perspective. Though I dont get the Royal wedding fasination myself, I do think they did quite the show! And that they do seem like good people, I wish them the very best! Oh and as to Kate being out of his league, for that kind of cash I would put on a wedding dress!

I read somewhere that the watch has some connection to his mother

I ended up watching it as the wife insisted we went to my mums and all watch it together (even tho i had a nice trip planned on my gsxr 750) it was ok, I dont really get the whole royal family thing but they both seem happy which is the main thing. Dont get how he choose not to wear a wedding ring I thought for religious purposes it had to be given as a seal / bond to the marriage or something along those lines.

On a side note, the sister is much nicer

I'm certainly not a royalist per se, but personally I just found it to be a nice, carefree and slightly uplifting public moment in an otherwise fairly downbeat year for the UK. I know it's not "cool" to like the whole royal wedding thing, but good luck to them I say. He's a decent guy, she's apparently really genuine and down to earth, so fair play to them I say. Sure, the press over-egg everything as the always do, but I'm not sure I get all the cynicism about it to be honest. :?

:yeahthat I understand Will's mother actually gave him the Seamaster. That automatically makes it worth (sentimentally) more than any PP/ AP/ VC.

Correct. It's the quartz version and was a gift from his mother shortly before she died. It's the watch that he always wears for fairly obvious reasons.

You beat me to it. Princess Diana gavr him the midsize seamaster. I'm pretty sure that's the only watch you'll ever see him wear.
