I don't know how you don't understand what I have said three times now. I don't think that I can make this any clearer for you. If you are seriously interested in a watch feel free to have it sized. I was making the point clear to the OP not to go into an AD and have them size every watch they take out of the case.

You didn't explicitly, but your shoe and suit examples lend to that impression. When trying on different models of shoe or suit, it only makse sense to try on ones in your size, no matter how many you try on. By extension, if you're equating trying on watches to trying on shoes or suits, the same rationale applies: have every watch you try on sized to fit. But perhaps you meant that one should narrow down one's choice of watch to a given model, and then have it sized to see if it makes the final cut. Makes sense, but it somewhat goes against your previous examples. (I hope I'm not parsing your meaning too much, Sergio. I know how much you hate it when I do that. :brewing: )

The interesting thing is that I am pretty sure Serge and I are saying the same thing...

This whole "sizing" issue is way out of hand.

I can place a watch on my writst and know exactly how it's going to look on my wrist without having it sized. No need to make the dealer go through the extra time and work to size it just so I can see how it looks.

However, if I'm ready to drop some good $$$ on a watch, then yes, as the last test, have him/her size it. Some bracelets can't get down to that exact fit you want (my current Omega bracelet is a tad too large for me and if they go down another link, it will be too tight). It wasn't a big enough issue for me with my Omega, but it may be a big enough issue that it is a deciding factor for someone else.

The OP is asking about "shopper etiquette" and doesn't have an intimate relationship with his AD like some of the rest of us have....so proper noob etiquette would be to NOT have the watch sized every time you try one on.

Sizing should be one of the last deciding factors which will push you to purchase the watch - it shouldn't be a request stepping into the store.

I dont walk into a shoe store and try on every pair of shoes i see; I try on the one or two pair that i like. i wouldnt walk into an AD and try on every watch and ask for it to be sized; only a jackass would do that. If you like a watch and are considering buying it then there is no reason in my opinion why your ad cant size it for you and i feel its perfectly acceptable to ask.

Last time I went suit shopping, I tried on a buttload before deciding what I liked. And I have done the same with shoes on occasion. I guess to know what you're talking about, we have to basically think and act like you do, hmm? :poke:

If you're going to spend a large sum of money on a watch why not ask them to size it?

Jackson...now you're just pressing to start an argument as is typical with your many posts. My initial comment is above....nowhere did i say to have every bracelet sized for the sake of trying a watch on. For you both to assume that is ridiclious.

Serge, at what point are you going to realize that (at least) my posts are intended towards the OP and not you?

Sergio, you magnificent bastard - you know you come on strong, so why are you surprised when people come back just as strongly? I'm not pressing an argument - I'm f*cking with you. Grow a pair and deal.

When you quote someone you are directing your comments at that person, not the OP.

I gave up trying to explain that you and I are on the same page here. I should have said that the purpose of my replies was for the OP.

Do you guys ever come back to topics a few weeks later to see how misguided some of your logic is on some of these topics?

Or do some of you have a few drinks before you post?

As of this moment I think I am making sense... although there is a possibility I am the only one that gets it...
