Fantastic pics of a fantastic watch. Makes me realize I need a better macro lens.

I don't suppose you have comparable shots of the watch on a Pro II bracelet?

Hi budy, its not about the macro lens, all my photos was taken by old Canon 300D with 18-55 lens or page #3 photos are with Sony NEX-3 camera with 18-55 lens, not a profi equipment.. ;)

Pro II bracelet now i dont have, but will be in short time i hope, if i get it i will take some shots with it ;)

This thread has me feeling bad about wearing my Steelfish for work so I contacted my AD to get me a discontinued Citizen Blackhawk so I can take better care of the fish and wear the Blackhawk for the "harder" days. I will send the Steelfish out to be serviced and brought back to new status later this year. Still can not get over how great the Black and the White face's look on this watch. This is a great thread.
Best health, Frank.

Hi Frank, i have SF for daily wear and i know in a few months these watches will needs some new health and will go to AD for refreshment :D

Have a nice day, Mike

I will never again post a pic of a Steelfish - these photos are the definitive pics of a great watch. Nice work.

No, please! Its a bad idea, my photos arent so special, on BS gallery are a lot better shot than mine. Start your camera and take more your SF photos ;)

To all - again, thank you guys for your support ;)

Then is it the optics of my lens? I have a Nikon AF-S Nikkor 18-70mm that came standard on my D70 (which I got back in the day). I can only get so close to the watch before it goes out of focus; by having to stay back further, I feel like I lose some detail. I'm happy with the shots I get overall, but they definitely don't have the level of crystal-clear focus yours have. As it is, I have to sharpen them in Photoshop so they don't look too soft, which I think makes them look a little too digitized.

All I know is that this post and the CSO post have just fantastic photos. Whatever you're doing, keep doing it.

Well, I do think his pictures are special, but I also agree: Tom, keep posting yours. All pics add to our appreciation and knowledge of the watches we like. I've greatly enjoyed looking at yours during my time here.

Is this shooted with 18mm end or 70mm end on your lens? Most of my pictures are snapped with maximum = 55mm end, minimal focus distance is circa 25-30 cm and i have these detail of my photos. In Photoshop I adjust these options: sometimes auto levels, selective color (i like more black), sometimes if i have a bad lights im using replace color, resize and sharpen, sometimes contrast without use legacy ;)

You can try to maximum zoom on your lens to 70mm and get to closest distance that your camera can auto focus and i hope that your shots will have more details, but not have any experiences with Nikons.. ;)

Yet more catalogue quality pictures of this future classic Mr Spiderer.

Great work indeed. Please keep them coming. They truly are inspirational.

I think you're right - this will be considered a classic. I tend to think the CSO might, too, but on balance, I think the Steelfish gets the wis juices flowing more. I can't quite put my finger on why. I keep wishing I had one, though, that's for sure.

Another great shot. I keep wondering if I might like the Pro I on my CSO, as an alternative to my Pro II. I really like the look of the Pro I, but from pictures I've seen, it does look like it might be a little flimsy structurally. Does anybody have any opinions on how the two bracelets compare?

:wowzers spiderer, this thread will be remembered as the best homage of the Steelfish thanks to your pics  . They're much more than a thousand words each.

BTW would you have an OR to try on? It would be great to have a different perspective of the Fishie.

The Pro I is very subject to stretching - more so than the Pro II. Maybe it has to do with the way the link pins on the Pro II are angled. I picked up a ProI for my Steelfish and wasn't impressed at all - it didn't support it very well due to the stretching.

Good to know, Tom. Thanks. I guess it doesn't really make sense to buy a second bracelet anyway, when I could be putting the cash toward a DPII on deployant. That strap looks like it supports the watch head very well - perhaps even better than the Pro II.
