Here is what I can tell you. It's going to be at LEAST 6 more weeks. Breitling knows what's coming 6 weeks out. Thy find out when it's allocated from the Swiss. And that hasn't happened on the Seawolf. I have multiple sold orders. I have a chrono if you want but no regular. They have been on backorder for a looping time. Production and stuff is all focused on new watches. Wont be soon is my educated guess.

Is this usual or is this year different due to the sheer number of new watches introduced.

It's always the same at this time of year. Same thing happens in the summer because the factory closes down for August.

Yep. When this was discussed before people wouldn't believe me when I said that the shutdown was government mandated.

All employees - even new hires! - must get a minimum of 4 weeks vacation.

I have always been told by my AD that delivery dates are given by Breitling and they are usually longer than effective ones, so that the customer has a "pleasant" surprise and that has been the case for me.

But I guess that may differ on the country you place the order from.
