@ RJRJRJ

It would be nice to have a local dealer to browse around at, that would also be flexible with negotiations. However, it seems from what I've learned from this forum, that it's best to buy online from a trusted AD like say FEAR or jnelson who can give you a good price and also avoid state sales tax.

I'm not exactly sure how to take your comments so I won't jump down your throat. As shark said, I am not faulting the AD at all, in fact, if you read my posts more carefully, you will see that I defended the AD and salesperson. It is the buyers responsibility to negotiate if they think they can. However, I would still try to return it if I was him but that window of opportunity may have already passed. What's the worst that can hAppen??? The AD says no! It's worth a shot in my opinion.

I agree with you 100%, mfserge. You do your research first—not after. The time for negotiation has passed. Simple. Now you know for the next time. You may get extremely lucky and your AD may give you a refund or discount. But don't treat the AD as if he hosed you. He didn't. So, to say you won't give him your business anymore is just plain wrong in this instance.

On the plus side, paying full retail on the first watch should be leverage for a MUCH better discount on the one he wants to buy for his brother. If it were me, I'd talk to the dealer to let them know that I'm better informed on the cost and ask for a discount even better than the standard AD discount on the second buy. You've got nothing to lose by asking.

I'm with you 100% Sergio.

That's why I visited at least a dozen ADs (well, yeah, we don't get free stuff over here but we do have a dense network of ADs) before choosing mine. Too bad for those that gave little or no discount.
