Please follow this link to a report on this wonderful timepiece from Breitling.

As always, I would welcome any comments and constructive criticism on this article.

Mods: Please feel free to move this to the reviews sections, although it's not really a review as such.

The example I was leant, on the mesh, has a retail price of £6200. Discounts can be had

By stansard bracelet I presume you mean the Navitimer bracelet.

I've just spoken to Sam at Andrew Michaels and he said that you probably could get a Navitimer bracelet to fit. He's going to check and confirm this later.

It does look the best on the brown croc strap.

After reading all the negative posts about the direction breitling's designs this year, this is a welcome change. The transocean is a beautiful watch. I agree, it looks great on a brown croc.

Now that Breitling is using it's in house movement in more models it'd be nice if they'd use a display back on them all. It's a beautiful movement, why not show it off.

Thanks for the report. Really enjoyed it and hopefully will make it appreciate it more once the store over here has the Black Dial one for me to try it on and hopefully, be my first Breitling purchase. :lingsrock:

Great write up as always Ricardo. It looks fantastic on the brown croco. Really looks like something special.

I have a feeling Breitling may already have had a 2nd lightbulb moment, in seeing an increased sales potential for display back models. The first being the Transocean re-invention itself. My hat goes off to those at Breitling who took these decisions - well done (in the best possible taste!). It's a lovely tribute to the beautiful 60's Toptime range from Willy Breitling himself.

...and some beautiful pics - thank you for sharing them.

I am also very pleased to hear that Breitling have now decided to change their minds and apply the exhibition caseback to the non-LE TransOcean.

They now need to make the same decision for the non-LE Navitimer 01 and B01.

The price of the LE TransOcean on the mesh is £6200. It will be veru interesting to see how much the standard version will be now.

While I don't think the mesh is horrendous, it isn't great and as such I agree that it looks best on the brown croco. Nice shots!

Very nice write up Mr Ricardo as always!

You've been getting your hands on some very nice pieces lately, and fortunately your camera skills are very much up to the job of capturing them in all their beauty.

That's very kind of you to say so Mr Driver and a great compliment coming from your good self.

However, I must re-iterate that I have not been able to capture the true beauty and lustre of the stunning silver dial of the TransOcean. Every one even remotely interested in the TransOcean must check this out for themselves.

I agree that I am very lucky and privileged to be leant these stunning timepieces by Andrew Micheals Jewellers. I must take this opportunity again to thank them for their generosity and trust.

It is a beautiful watch. i really like the retro pushers. I think the black dial version looks great on the mesh.

I see from your signature that you have a 1972 TransOcean. I'm guessing it looks nothing like the re-issued one.
