OK, even though I am still completely in love with my PAM 312 and have been thinking of the next watch. One that I can't seem to get out of my head is that new Panerai Bronzo. So what is the realistic street price (with discount from AD) and availability on this watch? Also, what are the chances (in your opinions) of one of these coming onto the pre-loved scene a while after the release? I think that this one might be well outside of my price range so a preloved, like new, would be super with me... if the price was adjusted.

Just thinking out loud..... :)

PS... I call first dibs on Altair's Panerai Bronzo (pretty sure he's getting one)! :)

US list price is $9,300 and they should be available in the fall - October is what I heard last. There will likely be some discount available, but obviously limited. Each AD is likely only going to be able to get one or maybe two so they may already be spoken for. I'm sure that there will be some available new at the end of the year - it always works that way, but if demand outstrips supply they may be at a premium for a while.

Imho, it would be a very difficult piece to get, as Panerai is in the habit of releasing SE ssslllooowwwlllyyyy. I really doubt you'll get any discount (unless you are a super vvvip at your AD), and any grey market pcs would be from flippers which would mean a nasty premium.

I put my name in at the Panerai Boutique, but doubt I would get one -- at least for the first 6 months or year after the release -- despite having a prior relationship with the Boutique. The number of Panerai enthusiasts have gone through the roof, and there are way, way too many VIPs ahead of me.

In terms of price - I am #2 on the list at an AD that I have never used before and was offered 8%. Admittedly that was through an introduction, but still.

I could probably garner a 5-15% discount at my AD (who ISN'T a Panerai AD, but is very friendly with the local Panerai AD), IF I ordered a new one now. But I don't have that kinda scatch to spend on a watch.

So fast forward to next year, do you think that there will be discounted (because of the "used" factor) Bronzo's on the secondary market? Frankly getting a discounted, pre-owned, Bronzo is likely going to be my only choice. CATV tech salaries aren't all that great and I haven't figured out how to break into the 100k+ club yet. :)

If there's a scarcity premium then I suspect that it will be shortlived, but as you know PAMs hold their value pretty well so I would expect that it's still going to be $7k+ next year.

$7k or so, next year, would be a lot more possible to swing than the new price this fall. Now if something changes, income wise, between now and then ...... well than that changes everything!

Dont expect a discount from many ADs, I bought many watches from mine and have an excellent relationship with them and they did offer one but nowhere near the usual I get. If your name is not already at an ADs list I am sorry to say that there is zero chance of getting one. I called my AD the same day they were released and had to put 25% down, its that popular a piece.

Now the good news, just like the composite Radiomir LE, a regular production model is likely to follow soon afterwards. Wont be the same obviously, but I cant see Panerai investing in the equipment and training required to make a 1000 pieces and then stop production of the material, especially since their price on the model is so reasonable.

So what do you suppose the difference on a Bronzo LE and a Bronzo regular will be? I could easily live without a LE numbering, but I would have to have the green crystal and the bronze case.

this always confused me. when you say 8% off is that 8% off the msrp then you add the taxes? or is it 8% off msrp and no taxes??

Well for me it will be 8% without taxes because it's not a Canadian AD, but I will have to pay Canadian taxes / import duty when it enters Canada. Ordinarily I will negotiate a discount of x% before taxes and then the tax is calculated on the lower amount.

It depends, it most likely will not be very similar, maybe 44mm, no green crystal, no one knows at this point! Look at the first Composite PAM and the regular productions, they are quite different.

It'll be a hard sell, even for Panerai, to call it a bronzo without a bronze case! :poke:

AFAIK, the crystal isn't actually green Bronco. I believe the dial itself is green, but the cystal is just regular sapphire.

DOH! I guess a Bronzo has to have a Bronze case! I just looked at a few more pictures and from the side it looks as if your right. I think the crystal is clear and the dial is green. Stunning look, no matter how they got there.

My AD is closed today (wierd huh?) but I will likely call them tomorrow and ask about the possiblility of getting one, a discounted price and IF a lay away would be an option..... :?:

Kinda strange, but of all the watches that been bought and announced (here) for whatever reason, this one looks the best to me!
