Sharkman, I feel your pain. Was working on trimming a piece of molding for the area next to the refrigerator side panel. Thin, prefinished, last of the matching group, as I moved it through my cellar workspace I hit a extension cord I had hurriedly draped over a table saw, backed off so as not to damage the trim piece, knocked over a oil can I had just used to lube the base of my chopsaw. Lost it, set down the trim almost destroyed the oil can. Not real mature but I have to admit, I felt much better. Peace my friend.
Best health, Frank

For my part, I'm tickled (pink?) I finally started a thread that out distanced the Breitling Boxer thread.

Yea, I knew when I pushed "Submit" I was making a mistake. I will take your advice and stay out of this conversation, just know I was not trying to change anyone's opinion or be confrontational. Accept my apology for not understanding the dynamic of the Forum. Enjoy all, catch you another time.
Best health, Frank

Frank, there is no need for you to appologize. You offered an opinion and a valid one at. I have been known to be confrontational but Jackson constantly quotes people, picks apart their words, and it's starting to annoy even me...and we all know I'm pretty opinionated.

You're one of the few polite guys on here and i enjoy reading your comments....don't worry about it....I think we all need to see some shots of that beautiful BEB to see what a proper Breitling is supposed to look like!!

I totally agree with Sergio because as soon as I'd read Jackson's post I was like." Oh, com'on Jackson, Frank's just expressing himself".

But to Jackson's credit, he always says what he thinks, no holds barred.

And that's why I'm addicted to this forum, plenty of great guys around here and so many different topics....

I forgot one quite important point:

Breitling had no watches in its range, which could be sold to the chinese market. Many "leading" watch companies on the market only live from the exceptional economical growth of the Chinese upper or middle class. If You reduce for example the official Omega salesfigures by China and chinese customers buying in Europe, You would have to reduce it by about 20 to 25%. That is an unbelievable figure. We have a considerable quantity of Chinese customers, buying Omega, Longines and Tissot watches (for themselfs and as presents) here in Austria, but I have never seen one showing the slightest interest in Breitling so far.

Of course Breitling wanted to participate in that market. The new Superocean is their first attempt. I don't know if it is successfull there. It is not very successfull here...

For the difference between Omega and Breitling Chronographs: Have a look at the new Seamaster Professionals in the pipeline: They look almost like the Superocean Heritage. Watches with black dials and bezel or blue dials and bezel have been on the market for at least 50 years and they all look pretty similar. I am unable to tell, which brand was the first with that idea.

I was flipping though the 2011 Chronologue over lunch with the owner of my preferred local Breitling AD. Mostly he was excited and pleased even as I grunted and groaned. Then he flipped to the page with the Chrono superocean and made his one negative comment - "Too Omega." I literally laughed out loud at that one as did he, but he quickly added, "We will sell plenty."

In a nutshell the difference between the dealer and enthusiast view points. I can repsect his position and he didn't quibble with my pissing and moaning either.

I've had worse lunches.

I really think you guys have hit the nail on the head. It is the Chinese/Asian Markets (and it is very interesting how they buy their watches there!)

We should also remember as Breitling Nutters the small proportion of the demo we make up, most owners would never visit a Breitling forum a few (OK lots of) times a day.

I know this and other forums are watched (sorry) but the job they have is to sell lots of watches.

Frank, talk loud and hard mate and remember that this is BS, not another place.

Many a true word there.

I can't recognize the colours with Asian markets though. I am a long way from being an expert on the subject, but every article I read on different brands responding to Asian (and particularly Chinese) demand talks about smaller and more conservative.
