Hi,

I purchased a pre-owned Ladies Breitling Windrider (2002ish) model. I had plans to have to add diamonds to the bezel. I took the bezel and watch to my jeweler and he said the bezel is to thin and that the stones would rub on the bottom.

Is it possible that a Breitling original diamond bezel is thicker to accommodate the diamond stones??

A jeweler online form NYC did not mention this would be a problem at all. Now I am totally worried. This is an anniversary gift for my wife and it MUST have diamonds...(whatta ya gunna do!). The NYC jeweler said it would be no such problem.

I was thinking that perhaps I can buy a Colt Ocean bezel with diamonds already on it. There are plenty of them online...however I am not sure if a Colt Ocean bezel will fit my watch. The watch I have is a little older. for example the 12hour marker does not have the separate metal piece that overhangs on the glass. See the attached watch that I am looking to add a bezel for.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I have no hard data for you, but its very possible that the NY jeweler is more skilled or experienced at setting diamonds into bezels like this. I had a friend many years ago that was a diamond setter, but couldnt work with stainless steel.
