If it's any consolation, George will fix it. Guaranteed. :lingsrock:

Fix the problem yes, but I'm not interested in a warranty repair.

After looking at another watch, my crown definitely does not go in as flush as it should and that makes two brand new watches in a row from ADs with problems. I'm not even mad this time, too f'in sick to be mad. I give up.

i think you are over reacting. your talking about a fraction of a mm. I'm sure everyone of us could pick apart our watches if we looked that closely.

A fraction of a mm? That's what you see? LOL I don't think so. On top of this the numbers on certain dates do not appear to line up perfect, and I am going from a Blackbird which did. So I am definitely not over reacting considering this watch retails for near 10k. If that's picking a watch apart, then perhaps my money would have been better spent on a Rolex.

My very first reaction to seeing the watch was to ask myself why is the crown pulled out, thinking it was odd, but it wasn't out. The fact I posted first before revisiting the issue clearly shows that I did not open the box determined to find something wrong, it was just the opposite, trying to tell myself everything is ok. But it is what it is, and what is expected of a new watch it is not. God I can't believe I have to deal with this again.

the numbers misaligned would bother me. the crown would not. but since there are two issues, I would get it repaired.

George stepped up an offered me a refund but fortunately after a little fact finding mission I don't think it will be necessary. My concern had very little to do with being picky, and everything to do with being sure I wasn't setting my myself up for a big problem down the road. Once I knew I had the option to return the watch I felt it was up to me to decide if it was the right thing to do, and after finding out how a crown has very little to do with the seal, and carefully watching my watch as I screwed it down, it's pretty clear the crown being out a little is not a big deal. I now understand why a watchmaker would have to see this in person to tell. Bottom line, the crown out a little is not a deal breaker for a good deal, and I'm keeping it. I would gladly buy from George again but not sure if he'd want to sell me one. LOL But that's ok, I have no watch money left anyway.

i fully understand your reaction, the also recently got a 6.75 and love it. But some of the lume markers are not evenly spaced from the outer edge some are flush some have a small gap. I know nothing to really worry about but like you said its a 10k watch and it should be perfect. But it bothers me less every day, its a great watch its like a BB with the double date just has more detail to the face

I purchased a chronomat in SS about four years back. When I got the watch home and examined in closely under bright lights, shifting it this way and that, I noticed several 'swirls' on the bezel and inner ring, as well as on the bracelet itself; plus the bezel seemed to turn a bit loose.

I freaked out, ranted and raved for a few hours, until my wife calmed me down and made the very salient point that "Now that you know the watch isn't "PERFECT", you will be more inclined to wear it for fear of damaging it."

I have to admit she was correct as I do tend to be neurotic about such things. I have a bad habit of letting my 'lings sit for awhile after purchase due to this tendency. And as much as I want everything cosmetically in order at sale, it's really, really difficult to get a 100% pristine watch, especially where two-tone models are concerned. The high polish makes it even worse.

So unless it's some catastrophic problem, my advice is wear the thing and be happy. Breitlings are expensive toys and therefore they should be cared for appropriately. But they are also meant to be worn, not kept in storage and admired from afar. That defeats the purpose, IMO.

Yikes, 10k. I hope it has an in-house movement for that price.
