hmmmm.... By using olive oil, is there any potential problems with rot or mold? (since its technically an edible oil)

So are many oils used often in leather treatments. Olive oil is a common ingrediant of many leather conditioners. But if you weren't careful and essentially soaked it, yeah I would be worried about problems down the road.

Do you think this would work with the tan calf strap you sent me with the Montbrilliant Olympus? Or does it only work with the croco?

I sent a tan calf?? Calf is extremely porous and you run the risk of uneven color. I would use a cotton ball rather than Q-Tip, dip it lightly in the Olive Oil - make sure it is fresh and the seal is cracked for the first time - and then try to remove almost all the the oil from the ball by blotting it until it is near dry. Then rub evenly with medium pressure over the entire strap lenghth. Worse case is a new strap must be bought at about $125.

Not a good sign when you don't remember what you sold Sharky.

You sent both black and tan. Since I wear it on the black, it's not that great of a risk trying this out. I just have to find the time and patience.

The strap fits my older Chronomat B13050. It has a black face and I was thinking this might look good with it since it has the gold rider tabs, numbers, etc.

Very very nice Tom, I like it.

A question though: how did you manage to keep the stitches oil free?

That's why you have to use a Q-tip.

I think that may the exact combination I would purchase, if the funds were available as well as the stock. Congrats, it's a real beauty.

I's still get oil on the stitches.

It looks really nice though. I wish breitling offered that color as an option. It's much nicer than the light brown.

Just got back from my AD who happens to still have about a dozen Evos in their display case (right next to the Chronomat 01's), and man was it a mistake for Breitling to discontinue this model. I don't hate the Chronomat 01, but I don't think that it is a worthy replacement for the Evo either. I wouldn't have a problem with it had they introduced the 01 as an ADDITION to the Windrider line up, but I don't think it appeals as universally as Evo did with all the options Breitling offered for it. The new bezels suck compared to the previous versions (for both the Windrider and Aeromarine lines). I never really paid a lot of attention to the Evo before...but the new releases made me want to go back and take a look at all of the models that are now discontinued...and will very soon be unavailable to purchase new.

My guy has already sold all of his SOSF (I was hoping that he still might have the blue), and he said that he doesn't think that he can get anymore from BUSA.

Times...they be a changing. :(
