Let's face it, we are living through times of DISORDER and DESTRUCTION here ! Admin, who is one of the greatest guy's we have ever known is walking around with UNPOLISHED gymnasium wall clocks on his wrist, wasting time on gymnasium wall clock forums and posting pictures of it. Breitling is marketing a Rose Gold Bentley GMT on a RUBBER strap and "Trendyness" has infiltrated our sacred ground !

With all of this in mind, I believe that ALL dedicated LING MEN should encourage Roffensian to get the 2 Tone Legende NOW ! Roffensian is in the position to restore INTEGRITY to this small community of GENUINE Ling Men !

Let's restore conservative, classic styling, get back to discussing complications, argue about straps VS bracelets, walk in DIGNITY with "polished" LINGS and return to our ROOTS !

I believe that Roffensian needs a little HELP here in "Justifying" his Legende purchase. Let's ALL band together and lend Roffensian our support so he can understand that this new purchase is much more than a mere luxury item for himself, it's an opportunity to restore INTEGRITY and STABILITY to a very valuable group of traditional, classic, yet nearly extinct gentlemen that this world desperately needs.

This is a Noble "attempt" to return to your duties but it's not cutting the mustard. Fortunately for you, I appreciate and understand your current position as I am also in the process of moving to a new home myself. However, we are STILL witnessing a DEGRADATION of principles here. Have no fear though, we are LOYAL Ling Men and we ALL appreciate your contributions and input. You can go ahead and live through this STAGE/PHASE of your YOUNG life and we will all be here waiting for you to recover from your "Trendy" diversions. In the meantime Driver8, Altair, Roffensian and a few others here will watch the Fort. If we run into any serious adversity we will consult Aeromansoor for help with TRADITIONAL, CONSERVATIVE values. For example, NO MAN THAT RUNS A LING FORUM SHOULD WEAR A RING ON HIS "Index" FINGER !!!!!!! We've looked the other way for now because we all think you are a great guy.

I wear a ring on my middle finger, not index finger.. I only wore it on my index finger when i first got it because it was too big (its sized now) and it was a gift from my girlfriend so I had to wear it.

Then after about a year when I found out you were wearing Gymnasium Wall Clocks and had actually started a web site about it, I had to retreat and THINK. As thinking is a couple steps down from KNOWING, I sat back and found an answer. I realized that Admin is just "growing up" and is going through his "trendy" phase. These gymnasium wall locks are "trendy" just like Bell Bottom's were when I was young. So I decided to just let you live through it and mind the store with some of the other traditional MEN here while you are gone.

I don't know exactly how long it will take, but the time WILL come when you will look at the gymnasium wall clocks and compare them to your LINGS and REALIZE that it was just a TREND !

It's kind of like what Driver8 said to the effect of "There's nothing like having a big LUMP of POLISHED Ling on your wrist"

That may not be "exactly" what he said but when I read it I KNEW that Driver8 was on the right track !

Yep, I agree Roff needs to get that Legende.

I had an argument last night with a mate of mine over a few beers who said that instead of buying more Breitlings I should be paying a thousand pounds off my mortgage instead. I resisted the urge to knee him in the nuts and instead pointed out that while he may have his mortgage paid off by the time he's 50, he will also not have experienced the joy (any joy in fact!) of owning some of the finest timepieces available and that he should learn to live a little! He could get run over by a bus next week, so lets live a little for today! Sure, I won't personally get into debt for my Breitlings, but I also think people should buy the odd luxury thing they like. So with that in mind........... Roff, get that Legende!!!!

One of my best friends is an investment banker and he handles my money for me. We have known each other since we were 13 years old. While he does have more money and SECURITY than I FOR NOW, he doesn't LIVE his life for TODAY at all. When I tell him I spent over $10,000 for a Bentley with a diamond bezel he replies by saying, "It's a KINGS ransom". This guy IS a millionaire and spent the first 7 years in his CUSTOM built home with NO BEDROOM CURTAINS ! He finally got himself a younger woman that got tired of waking up in the morning with the SUN Blaring in her face so he FINALLY got some curtains ! In the long run over the next 20 years I WILL be wealthier than him, more relaxed than him AND I will have enjoyed those 20 years, unlike my friend. Nobody here would suggest that our forum buddies go into DEBT or go out on a limb for the sake of LING ECSTASY, but we all need to take your point about being hit by a bus, and LIVE TODAY !

You're quite correct there Ling Man - we need to enjoy our time as we're all a long time dead.

Fortunately we're all die-hard Breitling Men who appreciate the finer things in timepieces and are prepared to pay for them, while at the same time not getting ourselves into debt for them. I think we all seem to hit the right balance between being vaguely sensible and living for today.
