The brown Breitling Croco has been given a special treatment to make is darker and IMO more compatable with the black dial.

That's a Breitling!!!!!!!!!! :lingsrock: Nice pick up. That was THE watch that got me into the Breitling Universe and sadly I've never owned one...until you sell this one.

What did you use? It does have a nice antiqued look yet the stitching still appears new.

What did you use? It does have a nice antiqued look yet the stitching still appears new.

Patience, Q-tips, cotton balls, and very expensive extra extra virgin olive oil. The pic doesn't do it justice. It's about 75% darker and had a nice sheen.

I love the stainless bands but that is beautiful. I like the effect of the olive oil and I admire your courage and steady hand.

Stole this little technique from another member here. I apply with a Q-Tip, blot with a cotton ball, rub with a clean cotton ball, hit strap for about 5 minutes under a hot hair blower, rub with a clean Breitling cloth, allow to air dry for 2-4 hours, then repeat. It is very important to apply a very small amount each application. The Q-Tip is rolled on a paper towell before applying lightly. Avoid the stitching.

I was going for a very dark brown so I applied 3-4 coats. Then let it air dry for 12 hours followed by vigorous rubbing with a clean Breitling cloth. At that point it's ready to go.

Below is a before and after with another brown croco (the untreated one is a bit lighter than most Breitling brown crocos. The treated one started a bit darker than the one on the right, but not a lot)

Love the watch, love the strap but I'm way too lazy to do all that. Congrats on the pickup though. When you sell it to Sergio I'll take the strap. :poke:
