Hi,

I've got a Breitling watch, that i'm guessing is a fake, but I'd really value some opinions from the more well informed amongst you.

The photos are attached, and the number stamped on the back is A17035 - which I believe refers to the model Colt Automatic (early). Just below the model number there is a very lightly etched serial number 40564.

Any help much appreciated.

I don't think it is a fake at all. It appears to be the original Colt model from the 90s. It should measure 38mm case size from the 10-2 positions and have 20mm lug widths. If you are concerned the Pro I bracelet has pins rather than screws, don't be - that's how they were.

That watch appears 10++ years old. The fake manufacturers weren't even bothering with getting close to accurate back then and it would be rare to find a fake that old with anything but a quartz movment.

It definitely needs a good exterior refinish and you can get that done at a local Jeweler or AD for about $100-$125.

You may want to consider getting the mineral crystal replaced, but the other option for scratches on mineral crystals is a do it yourself - a small dap of ordinary toothpaste - not something with extra whiteners or promises of women falling at your feet! - allow it to dry, and polish with a dampened cotton ball in circular strokes.
