1.6 Turbo, 204 BHP, 0-60 6.5 secs and 44 MPG.

£125 to tax per year in the UK Vs £420 I pay now!

Interior is pretty funky too....................

Well, I think I am finally succombing to the UK Government 'taxed off the road' strategy!

My Hemi 6.1L V8 will be going.

However, I will not go down without a fight and one of these may be incoming.....................

Looks cool indeed.

But does it drive accordingly?

Don't want to hurt your feelings or anything Stef but, as always, I prefer the original. And the OEM of the engine happens to be BMW. So, my vote goes for the Mini John Cooper Works.

LOL, you'd never get me in a Mini! There are far too many estate agents around my way driving Mini's!

Incidentally the engine isn't solely BMW it was a joint effort from BMW and PSA.

They have never appealed to me at all.

True, where you live the image of Mini is so totally different from elsewhere in the world.

I don't blame your reaction. :)

the DS3 has won all the awards for small cars this year and is meant to be better than the cooper, because of this I got my wife a ds3 white diesel, as she drives 130 miles a day to work, £20 a year in road tax. It is an amazing car, the handling is superb for such a small car and i image the ds3 racing will be better. The diesel engine is very good when you want to cruise it gets 60+ mpg but it has good pick up and can be driven quite fast and has good torque.

on a side note i HATE mini's but she did go and test drive one and did not like it

Well I have to confess, I wimped out on the Racing today, I took a 110 Hdi out and to be honest, in Dsport trim it was pefect, £5,000 less and as you say, only £20 to tax and 60+ MPG, so I've placed my order and should take delivery mid April, just need to clarify the colour on Monday, Manitoba Grey or Black?

The grey, we for a ds White limited edition which worked out a good saving with the spec if they have any left, we got it for £1400 off list brand new. Would will like it a great little car. Only annoying thing is the running lights turn off when you turn the main lights on

I definitely think the grey but aparantly it's a greeney grey. I'm going to have a look at that colour on Monday, I hope it does look like the picture above because that goes very well with the white roof and graphics pack.

We got a pretty good deal as it's very hard to get discounts at the moment but we did get free servicing, deposit paid for us and free paint/interior protection.
