Ah... I guess I should have removed the reference in my signature... Ooops, so the secret is out. I can't wait to get it on my wrist. Got a Ted Su big hornback ordered and I have been thinking about a box of misc leather that I have stored in my basement. I used to do leather work as a child (4h Club) and I still have some leather scraps and tools. I will have to buy a few additional tools (needle, thread and glue) and maybe try my hand at making a strap or two.

First Panerai as well. I was going to get a 112 but I am addicted to having a date and am slowly moving towards an in-house collection.

Pics to come later this week. :D

Congrats Bronco and making your own strap would be really cool.

Congrats on the 312. I was always partial to the Panerai OEM gator straps. I had the antique brown and the black with black stitching and that was all I needed. I had the black Riva which was a great casual strap to have. I never liked the rubber that came with my 112 though.

Nice! Keep a cape cod on hand - that polished bezel attracts scratches like dust. I think my dress shirts scratched my 320 bezel. The nice thing is you don't need to tape off the dial due to the shape. Though I used Sunshire cloths which don't have liquid in them. Just part of the deal.

Congrats Bronco! :D And definitely you'll have a blast making your own straps! Perhaps you'll share some pointers... I'm having a hell of a time punching the underside holes to line up with the top holes in a nice straight line through the thick leather :(
