What do you guys think about JeanRichard watches in general? The Bressel 1665 caught my eye, in-house movement and classic lines. Looks like you can get a killer deal on them too...

Thoughts?

I have no clue about the brand, but the looks are very striking. Love those blued hands and the layout of the complications. I can see why it would catch your eye for sure. Being that they are probably a lesser known brand (which I have no clue if they are or not), but if they are lesser known then the resale would most likely suffer somewhat. Still a very nice looking piece Sasho....so what is the going rate on this killer deal?

There is one for sale, brand new - never worn, retails for $8130 and you can get it for $2845...65% discount  :!:

You thinking of picking one up  8)

I'll send you the link so you can check it out...the design of the dial is a bit different and looks better than the pic I attached.

65% is a good discount because it's below regular dealer cost, but these things are heavily overpriced so huge discounts are the norm. Not sure why the market doesn't put more value in the in house pieces, but they just don't get the respect.

Not a fan of that enamel looking dial, but the layout it pretty nice. Seems like a pretty good deal at $3k.

Hi sasho

Not sure if this is the same Jean Richard as in Jean Richard Bressel but if it is a can impart a little further information they are the sister brand of Girard Perregaux who were founded in 1791 and are very much in the top tier of Swiss Watch makers going by the price i am assuming it is indeed the same company i am thinking of and their movements and build quality falls into the higher ratings for watch manufacturers.

Although i came to this forum here initially because i was about to buy a Breitling I'm currently torn between 3 watches a Corum Admiral Cup Competition 48mm Titanium with a rubber strap a Panerai 111 and lastly but not least a Girard Perregaux Sea Hawk 2 PRO Titanium. I'm drawn towards the last of these due to my love of Titanium and the fact i can get a brand new unworn example with full 1 year warranty and at a very good price compared to list plus the fact you just don't see many around which i like and for my eyes i think its stunning. Oh and i would say the discount you are looking at makes it a steal I'll be lucky to get 50%.

Marc

Thanks a lot for the reply Marc, much appreciated. If memory serves me correctly indeed its JeanRichard Bressel. I didn't know they were linked to Girard Perregaux. Thats pretty cool. I guess its like the link between Glashutte original and A. Lange & Sohne.

I hope you go with the GP. I really like their WW.TC FINANCIAL Chrono. Actually when I was getting into watches that one really caught my eye since I work in the financial world. The white face, gold on brown croc is simply astonishing. Maybe one day

Welcome to the forum by the way!

Hi Sasho,

Glad to be of assistance and thanks for the welcome, unfortunately I've just missed out on the GP Sea Hawk Pro Ti as someone got there before me which reminds he who hesitates loses but have now decided to go for a 2010 Pam 111 just trying to finalise a deal now so hopefully should have it sometime next week if all goes to plan.

Marc

Just for info, the Bressel 1665 is dinky - just 38mm.
