Hi,
I went to my AD and picked up my Navitimer LE 01 with edition number 1961. This is a REALLY nice watch, I love the display back case and the movement is a work of art. Really beautiful! I ordered a dark brown calf skin strap with it and deployment buckle. At first the AD wasn't sure about my choice and offered to swap out a black strap if it didn't look good. BUT we were surprised, it looks really good. Not as stark as a black strap...

But as it happens a fellow beside me was picking up a Super Avenger... ok I now have the bug and I'm thinking of getting the Super Avenger with a black dial. May need to sell a few things like my 2000 COSC Chronomat GT... maybe a spare motorcycle I have in the garage

Anyway, does it ever end... how many watches can someone wear at one time?

Outstanding, enjoy your Navi. I have a Vintage 1964 that I truly enjoy. :lingsrock: I was looking at the LE Navi yesterday along with a SA. Decisions, Decisions. :?: :?: I was troubled to hear from the Dealer that the Navitimer will not be sold after this current LE Navi. :( Have you heard about this? The dealer said the classic Navi is no longer available.

Regular Navi with an ETA movement is discontinued, replaced with the Navitimer 01. The LE is the initial offering with a display back, red date font and red chrono seconds hand but there wil be a non LE in house Navitimer.

Many Congratulations.

The Navitimer 01 is truly stunning. I had the pleasure of being lent one for a week a little while back for a review. I really fell for it and did consider buying it. Alas funds did not allow at the time and the AD has since sold it.

Please post pictures when you have the chance.

REALLY?? No I haven't heard that. I wonder if anyone else has heard this? Does that include the other Navi models or just the "classic" black dialed Navi? Makes my purchase a little more "special". :D

Answered above, ETA based standard Navi is being replaced with the new in house Navi.

Thanks Roff, saw that. Seems we were all writing at the same time.

Congratulations on a FINE watch! I was seriously looking at one, but couldn't swing it so I went with a SA. And BTW, it never ends.....

Congtats on a great piece! The dark brown strap sounds interesting. Perhaps some pics are in order? Mine is on a black strap, which I think looks very nice. And stark ;-)

And does it ever end? I'm afraid not... :-)

Thanks Roff. As always you have comforting news. I guess the AD uses this approach too sway decisions?

Possibly, or may just be ignorance. AD staff aren't always the most informed or educated on what's happening with the brand and it's possible that they were only told that the regular Navi is dscontinued - the new version isn't being officially launched until Basel which starts next week.

There are a handful of members here with close contacts at distributors and Breitling SA. My personal experience is we have the inside scoop long before the vast majority of ADs. The discontinuation of the Superocean line (except the SOII) was news to my AD. As well as the reduction of many pieces in the Navi range, and other matters already discussed on these boards. In fact as of a few weeks ago, all my local AD was being told by their regional rep was, "There will be no more 'ranges.'" IDK whether the reps are given all that much info either - just speculating. If the reps are given the info as early as we are and based on what my AD tells me, I will never sit across the table from a BUSA rep playing poker.

Congrats on the new Navi 01! I did try this one recently and it is a nice watch. My personal consternation (completely disregarding Breitling's cost amortization, etc.. - just me personally) is the 01 Navi costs $2500 more than the existing Navi on identical strap/clasp set ups. Without a claculator, that's about a 50% price increase. I just can't get past that.

I will be interested to see what Basel holds for the non-chrono models. Surely something will be introduced to replace the Steelfish gap? Will be interesting to see the price there. The Colt line is being "re-worked." Will be interested to see what that means as regards the movement in the auto and price as well. And what about the SOII? Will that experiement end or will the model be fitted with a new in-house?

I remain among the pedestrian few who lean towards tried and true movements with less sticker shock involved. One thing seems clear - the days of any Breitling models priced under $3,500 are fleeting. I'll just be happy with the NOS pre-2009 dial Cockpit I got the other day. A classic and at $3100 after discount, an easy choice.

Well said Shark. I get a lot more info on the forums than from the ADS's. The only time I got straight scoop on a future release was when I met a Breitling regional rep and she told me about the limited Airwolf, which I ended up ordering and buying. I don't expect an AD to be as enthusiastic about Breitling as I am because they sell other brands, but when I know 50 times more about the models than they do, it turns me off.

I look forward to seeing what comes out of Basel. Personally, I would love to see something with a chrono AND GMT function around the 43-45mm size. I like the Navi world, but would love to see a chronomat size piece with those functions with a sporty or military look. Just my opinion.

I'm also curious to see if the non-limited Navitimers will have applied wings or painted logos. I hope they keep that 43mm case!!
