If you want to keep your Breitling within Breitling specs your have to service it with an authorized dealer or with Breitling directly.

it was sent to Breitling UK for a complete overhaul......when it was returned from what would have been a £372 overhaul, the watch was running 15 seconds a day fast.

Within Breitling spec?

It sure ain't Breitling specs if it's running 15'' a day fast. However, giving the watch to a local repair shop as mGRANDEUR1 suggested

If you look for local watch repair shop they might be able to do it for a little less money. Especially since we have heard multiple stores about people sending their watches out to BUSA and getting it back with a ding in it.

not only it doesn't guarantee that it will be within Breitling specs but you're also taking the risk that Breitling will refuse to service it when and if you send it to them for the next service. Then, the local jeweler will have to use non-Breitling parts. So, you end up with a watch that looks like a Breitling but it ain't one.

Personally, I would never entrust my Breitling to a local repairman just for saving a few bucks. But that's just me. Like Frank said in another thread, anyone can buy a 5 series but not everybody can assure its maintenance.

What you should have done is return it to your jeweler because if it was sent to Breitling for a service then there is a guarantee for it.
