Hi all my question is this: I recently purchased a M1 and while looking at the Breitling web site I relized that there are two complications. One is a Chrono and the other is a Yatching. I thought I was purching the Yatching since the dial had the count down red and blue markings from 50 to 0 sec. This watch has only the chrono function it hgas the second count down hand. This is confusing since the Chrono versions apear not to have this marking on the dial. Any help?

If I'm reading you right, your problem is that the minute hand for the chrono is currently set at 60 but you want to use the yachting timer. To use this, the minute chrono hand needs to be re-set to start at 50, not 60. It then will act as a 10 minute countdown indicator. Your AD will be able to do this for you or check the manual.

I have a Shark which uses a similar movement so I don't know if it is exactly the same on the M1 but it involves pulling the crown part way out and then pressing the pushers to advance the minute hand to 50. Very simple to do once you know what you're doing.

For fairly obvious reasons, yachting regattas (races) start with the boats already moving. The start is at a predetermined start and yachts jockey for position to be as close to the start line, but not over it, and facing the right direction at the precise start time.

The last 10 minutes are critical for positioning the boat correctly so it is identified on these watches for the captain to easily see how long to go and therefore what actions to take to gain an advantage over his or her competitors.

Sharkmouth you are correct. In the manual it is called desynchronization. I missed it because it talks about doing this when replacing the battery. As you stated pull the crown once set the Hr and Min reg. pull to the second position and set the Sec totalizer and the 1/10 totalizer. You can start the Chrono at any point you want. Very cool thanks!
