Wow Prochargers are $6500 now!!! I thought they were like $4000? They make all the difference huh. What a boost you get from those little things. Brian do they just dial up the fuel intake on the computer in your car to allow for the blower or do you have to get a new chip?

Side pipes look nice on some models, but I prefer them on 60's model Corvettes.....Especially the 66-67 model!

There have been a few minor tweaks to the C6 since 2005.

Dash and center console have a stiched pleather now  , the horsepower has been bumped/opitional exhaust, "paddle shift" located on the steering wheel (as of 2007 and up) upgraded "Corvette" kick panels in the door jambs, along with a few color changes here and there. Nothing like a built motor on a classic, but if you have the bank to build on a new LS2 or LS7 the possibilities are endless.

I agree the mid year Vettes look the best with the side pipes. I have a 406 in my Vette with AFR heads and that motor screams. The new vette motors are aluminum blocks right?

406!

I just got wood.

Yes sir, the LS2 6.0L (2005-2007) LS3 6.2L (2008-?) and the LS7 7.0L are are all aluminum blocks, 6 bolt mains.

The LS7 is just an amazing piece of work from the factory. It has a dry sump oiling system, and of course they are assembled one at a time in Wixom, MI then shipped to Bowling Green for installation.

LOL yes it is a 406. It is a great motor. 400 block punched .30 over with 6" rods instead of the usual 5.5" that comes on a standard 400. Aluminum Oliver rods,JE pistons and a Lunati crank. All spun by a Comp roller cam and Airflow Research aluminum 210 race heads topped with a set of Crane gold full race roller rockers and an Edelbrock Vic Jr. single plane manifold all fed by a huge 850 double pumper Holley. Trans is a heavily worked 700R all sent to 411 gears in the rear with a pair of MT street slicks. I can cruise the highway at 70mph at about 2300rpm with 411 gears because of the 700R tranny. No A/C on the car for obvious reasons so it is not an everyday driver down here in the summer heat. Your nice new Vette is a lot more comfy then my radical sweatbox haha!

Wow those new Vette motors sound pretty awesome!

Wow.

Your ride sounds like a BEAST.

I'm with you on the heat.

I'll be swapping my clear top out for the solid soon. We get pretty warm here, just not year round like you guys.

:(

For factory motors with no mods, they are pretty cool, but nothing compares to a built motor.

Gearing helps with the gas mileage...final drive on our car in 6th gear is 2.73 so you can run with the cruise control on 75 and get 25mpg no problem.

Have you heard of a place called DPECorvettes.com?

INSANE build......Check these two clips out, and it's NOT a Z06!

Man that car is a friggin MONSTER! Dude that thing screams like nothing else!!!! That is your color and combo ready to go! Superchargers create more power then anything else you can do. Did you hear how fast that car revs up,he cannot even dump the clutch on that thing without losing control, that is when it is fun lol! What is in that thing????

That car would lose me halfway through 1st gear. My car is quick but nothing at all like that beast.

Were is that shop at? Is it by you? I hear you about the clear top though, have both so you can switch back and forth and that would be cool.

Makes you want that blower right away huh

Oh man, I watch that clip and just go nuts. I couldn't handle that much car, but it would be a wicked ride!

Draco Performance Engineering in the name of the company. I think the are located in Illinois.

Build photos: http://www.dpecorvettes.com/gpage1.html

The funniest thing about the car is the personalized license plate..."AM WOOD" (Morning Wood) on one of the YouTube clips!

Yeah, I'd love to have a ProCharger on my ride now. I break the car out on Thursdays and Sundays (My two days off). I don't drive it that much because I'm always working.

:(

Brian,

I know that is way too much car to handle but I sure would like to try  A good friend of mine had a 67 Chevelle with an open chambered 427 that was worked to the balls and that car would stand straight up to 2nd gear. When you have that kind of horsepower you better hold the f*ck on after you punch it because you can't wimp out when the front tires come 3-4 feet off the ground. A guy that built one of my motors had a box Nova that was insanely fast and he took it out for the first blast and banged 2nd gear so hard he broke off the steering wheel and had to grab the broken nubs and steer the car off the road.

I was thinking how many mods they must had to make so the rest of the car could handle all that HP. If they put that motor is a stock Vette the car would bust in half lol. I see they use AFR 225 heads, those are a monster head. I have AFR 210 on my 400,both heads have 2.08 valves which are huge. I guess when you are putting that much fuel through a motor with a blower you need the biggest heads available :P

Damn.

That's a lot of juice. Torque monster! When you're breaking sh*t from hard acceleration, that is just plain scarry.

I don't see how in the hell drivers hold it straight on a drag track.

Brian,

I know that is some serious HP and torque huh! When sh*t just beaks like that you know that is some serious power! That Vette video you posted has that kind of power. Did you notice how that guy only really opened the car up when he was moving lol. I just watched that thing again and man what a nasty sounding car

Brian,

I think all they can do is punch it and hold on and hope for the best  Before I put the slicks on my car it was super scary. It was like driving on ice. I was just rolling on some BF G-Force street tires and they would just spin through 2nd gear and then the car would be sideways when I hit 3rd. I was racing a kid in a blown Mustang a few years ago and he had street slicks and I was on my BFG's and I was basically sideways the whole race. Slicks make all the difference in the world. I can almost just put my steering wheel straight and punch it and the car just goes straight with the slicks but before it was a wild ride. You will need some with a Procharger for sure!

My buddy who has the 73 Camaro with the Procharger on it told me before he went to full slicks that he banged 4th gear at just over a 100 and the car went sideways on him before he went through the trap at the track. He said an underwear change was in order after that

Speaking from someone who also works in the Auto Industry - That is a fine choice you made including the colour. Yellow often seems to be over-looked (in Europe anyway) but REALLY suits that car.

Best of luck with it!!

We know you will have some major thrills in that weapon!!

Enjoy!! :)

Thank you.

It was between yellow or blue.

So far, it's has been a pleasure to own and drive.

Wow.

I've ran a truck with slicks and they grip like crazy. If my wife ever made a pass in something like that I would be broke. She would want to do it for the rush....she loves going fast.
