Thank you.

Luckily, the wife isn't that expensive. She's doesn't have expensive hobbies! She is starting to get more into watches though after I bought her a Cartier Roadster and a Gucci for her collection.

This may get scary!

Brian,

Congrats on your new ride! Have you seen the new ZR1? I just was reading about it in the latest Cigar Aficionado and man that car is going to be a beast! Going to make the Z06 really look slow if that is possible. Take one for a blast when you get them in and let us know how that bad boy runs! I have been messing with Vettes my whole life and they are fun to have so congrats again and enjoy your Vette in good health.

Thanks! We are loving the new car so far. It now has 920 miles on the clock.

The new ZR1 is AMAZING.

205 mph!

Here's a clip of it hitting 205 mph on a track in Germany.

It's pricey! I hear 4000 will be built, and half of them will be sent to Europe!

Brian what an awesome looking car huh! I heard a $100k for them. That is big money for a Corvette huh. Is it only a 1 year production?

Brian,

When can we expect the pics of your wife next to your new ZR1  What are the specs on the regular Vette now? 400hp? All the Vettes through the 90's were complete garbage, nice to see they have greatly improved them. I had a 96 for a while and what a pile of junk that thing was. It would not even break it's tire loose. GM is really turning up their game to compete and that is good to see!

I haven't heard if it's a one year run...I would assume it will make a run until the C7 is released in 2011.

I did hear of the 4000 built in the first year, half were going to Europe. The first one sold brought one million USD at it's release at the Barrett Jackson auction

Thanks.

Her name is Brandy, and we have been married for almost eight years.

As for the car I enjoy driving it. Bang for the buck, it performs very well as it sits. It's rated at 436 hp, and is very smooth at warp speed!

I would like to add a supercharger to increase the horsepower to 650 hp, but I want to make sure my store will honor the warranty if something breaks.

Brian,

What do you want to add an ATI Procharger or something like that? 436hp,that is pretty good. I am sure that would kill your warranty right? I am looking at a 671 blower for my 79 Vette right now. Nothing like a blower for HP! A friend of mine has a 73 Camaro with one of those Prochargers on a mildly built 350 and that car runs 10.80's. Those little things can make a world of difference and just make a pretty fast car into an animal. Good luck.

I agree with you....the C4's were rattle traps. I'm cramped in the C4's. The C5 was a vast improvement when it was released in 1997.

The 2008 model 6.2L was bumped from 400 to 430hp, and with the dual mode exhaust it will do another 6hp. The Z06 of course is rated at 505hp. I have the dual mode exhaust (same exhaust as the Z06), and it makes a little noise! At 3500 rpms, it opens two valves in the exhaust and really starts to flow. There is a device you can buy that will open the exhaust manually, it ties into your garage door opener!

With device: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Y33MDL5cnxQ
Without: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=XtyFLWNDE ... re=related

This by far is the best Corvette constructed, although it does have a few things I would like to see changed, but I understand the need for composite materials in the car. It rides remarkable well, and with the steering assist/traction control activated it takes the corners very well! So far, we are both enjoying it.

That's what I would liek to install.

The ProCharger is around $6500, which I think includes nre injectors. I work for a dealer so if I have the install done here, I would like them to honot my warranty.

I've seen a few ProChargers on Camaros and Mustangs. Wow, What a difference!!!!!

That is nice they have made it sound meaner. Nothing worse then that tinny Flowmaster/Mustang sound huh! The guy that owns the business next to mine has a new Vette that he put Flowmasters on and it sounds terrible,it sounds like an import haha! I pleaded with him not to do it and to use some other brand of mufflers but he didn't listen. He even left his cats in the car with headers on,some people just do not understand that HP needs to breathe. I had the big old Hooker side pipes on my old Vette and those things were the worst ever. All my friends had burn marks on the back of their calves lol! I switched it over to the Hooker super comp headers and exhaust out the back which is so much better. Side pipes look cool but they burn you and stink you out with the windows open. I have not been in a new Vette but sure sounds like they have made some MUCH needed improvements and are on the right track.
