After years of admiring Breitlings, I finally pulled the trigger a few months ago and bought myself a SS Seawolf with black dial and stencil numerals. It's been instant love. Here's the rub, I'm still torn between the aesthetic merits of the beautifully elegant, yet masculine, Pro II bracelet versus a classy, understated, croc leather strap with deployment clasp. Making things worse for my wallet, I think the SOSF is every bit as beautiful a watch as the Seawolf, and was a very close second choice to my Seawolf. Therefore, I am now contemplating keeping my Seawolf for those times I prefer the all SS look, and picking up a Steelfish with a strap for when I want to switch things up. If I do it, I'd configure the Steelfish with silver dial and black croc strap for optimal contrast between the Seawolf. Question, am I insane to consider this? I'm gainfully employed, but not wealthy by any means, not to mention the fact that the Seawolf and Steelfish are pretty similarly styled watches. Is owning both overkill? Look forward to reading everyone's opinions.

Let me get this straight, you are asking us whether owning two Breitlings is too much.

I suspect that there may be consensus on this one................

Not so much whether more than one is a good idea, but if you did not have unlimited funds, and 2 Breitlings was your quota, is a Seawolf and a Steelfish a combo you'd like to have?

I never really have opinions on questions like that because it's an issue of personal choice. Are they similar, sure, but so what. If that's what you like then go for it.

Remember you can just as well put a strap on the Seawolf and it will become a competely different watch.

IF you opt for a Steelfish you need to pull the trigger soon - it is discontinued. If you go with the silver dial Fish, I'd encourage you to consider either the Brown or Gold (light brown) strap. It brings out the cream undertones in the dial and is one of the best looks you can have. A black strap has the tendency to wash out the dial color. Just my observation from actually trying out these options. There are a boat load of members here who will second that.

If you like the look of the Fish and the Seawolf, go for it. As noted above, the choice is too personal for you to heed to anyone else's "opinion."

I gave myself a one breitling limit. I ended up buying a Montbrillant Datora and a Navitimer World in the same month. I thought one would give me my fix, but once you have one in your hand you realize they are just so beautiful and you need them ALL. since then i have picked up two more. so my watch collection meant for only one Breitling now has four, and they are all very similar. I have a navitimer world, montbrillant datora, chornomat evolution, and a super avenger i two weeks ago for my birthday.

you won't stop at two, so good luck with the fight. I had the same issue i posted a while ago. I was made to feel as if i was nuts for having the angel on my shoulder saying don't spend all that money you have one.... two.... three.... already. You are not alone.

Limited or unlimited funds (you never mentioned an upper limitation) I'd go for a Navi B01 LE and a Le Mans bronze dial if I had to stop at two.

I agree 100% with Tom on this one. If you are interested in getting the silver dialed fish...the brown or gold croco will give you the best look. The dial already has a tan color to it, and these straps enhance that look. Black will make the dial look plain...brown will make it "pop".

Good luck with your decision.

I don't find the Seawolf and Steelfish overly similar. I certainly wouldn't mistake one for the other if seen on someone's wrist. Two great choices IMO, and different enough to justify owning both. Go for it.

And in response to the original question, yes, two Breitlings are better than one. And three are better than two, and . . .

Breitlings are like Lays potato chips; you can't eat just one. Go ahead, buy the Steelfish. Then you'll want a chrono and get an Avenger. Then something dressy, so you'll buy a chronomat or navitimer. Oh, a new model just came out and you have to have that!!

Several thousand dollars later, you have a great collection and are now HOOKED. :wowzers

So yes, get them both. :yeahthat

Didn't realise the Steelfish is discontinued. Glad I got mine just before Xmas.

I've owned a Submariner and 3 Seamasters (all great watches) but the Steelfish is my favourite diver :lingsrock:

I'd go for something completely different; maybe a Navi to really add variety. You can easily change between strap and bracelet on the sea wolf.

Not to mention the other cool watches, like the Rolex Deepsea, the Omega 45.5 mm Planet ocean, and the Tag Heuer Carrera, all of which I'm looking at. I'm Prob gonna pick up the Tag Tomorrow or Sunday.
