Baselworld 2008 was over the top! I highly recommend if anyone ever has the opportunity to go, "Just Do It"!!! Here are a few pictures of my adventure. Just don't try to do it in two and a half days!

Image
Entrance to Baselworld 2008 Hall 1 Watch Pavillion

Image
Breitling Booth was four stories tall and 7000 square feet!!!

Image
Breitling logo "My hearts pumping"

Image
Aquarium was off the hook! A full bar located directly underneath the aquarium and behind the wall entrance. Behind the aquarium was a full restaurant for staff and clients with tables right next to the aquarium!

Image
Another view... Camera crews a journalist from all over the world were gawking at the Breitling boutique!

Image
Not Breitling related I know, but a cool car outside of Tag Heuer's booth!

Image
After the show we passed this cool car walking to the train station

Image
Waiting on the train to Freiburg Germany with a cool one!

Image
Europe's transportation system beats the hell out of North America's...

Image
Highly recommend the Hotel Colombi in Freiburg Germany! About a thirty minute train ride to Basel...

Had a blast and have many more pics. Will post some later!

Most of all, I envy the Europeans for their wonderful transportation system.
Cheers,

Well, I guess compared to Canada, they are great. We hardly have any, of course our population is much less, much less dense, and distances are greater.
Cheers,
Carl

Brings back fond memories of Basel (I've worked ther 5 out of the last 6 years - on & off).

I got 1/2 a day at Baselworld in 2004 - just arrived in Basel on the last day and got free tickets from the place we stayed.

Yup - envious doesn't begin to describe it.

Great pics - well worth the trip for you, I'll bet.

Nice pics.

By the way, it was an excellent lunchbreak in the restaurant with the big aquarium
An annother funny thing: I also stayed in Freiburg for the fair.

Cool, that you stayed in Freiburg also. I checked for rooms in Basel, but it was obviously full, and a friend recommended Freiburg. I would stay there again, unless Basel had decent rooms close by the fair that were available.

The bratwurst and cold beer outside the pavilion were tasty also!

The restaurant behind the aquarium was sweet. The shark necklaces were kinda cool too...
