I worked on the television show "Friends" beginning with the second season, and worked there for the remaining nine seasons. If memory serves, we filmed the last episode on January 24, 2004, on stage 24 at Warner Brothers Studio in Burbank, California. For Christmas of 2003, just a month before the finale, the cast presented each member of the crew with a beautiful certified chronometer Breitling watch, and I am now offering the one I was given for sale. I am sure I tried it on, but I never wore it as I am not in the habit of wearing watches. The watch remains unused and as new in its original box complete with all of the original paperwork and documents. Photo number 3 shows the back of the watch which still retains the clear plastic seal which is stamped in the color red "Controle Qualitie Breitling."

As will be seen in other photos which I have posted with the ad, the band is of black leather, each piece of which is stamped with a sentiment from the 6 cast members. As those who are familiar with the show will remember, each episode had a title such as "The One With Joey's Car," or some such; in the same vein, the leather portion of the strap which has the buckle is stamped "T.O.W. The Watch," meaning "The One With the Watch." The strap with the perforations is stamped "Love JCLMMD," or, "Love Jennifer, Courtney, Lisa, Matt, Matthew, David."

This is not only an opportunity to own a very fine watch, but also an article of genuine memorabilia from one of the most celebrated television shows in history.

God knows if it's true or not, but as with anything allegedly owned or given by a famous person, provenance is all important, and from what I can tell, this doesn't have anything except the seller's story. A signed letter from the studio or better still from one or more of the main cast (Jennifer, Courtney, Lisa, Matt, Matthew or David) would've helped the guy's story. Or a photo of it being presented to him by one of the cast.

As it is (i.e. a genuine Colt with an embossed (read, "ruined") strap) I'd say it's probably not worth anything more than a standard Colt. With better provenance then I guess the price would be in the hands of Friends enthusiasts and what someone would be willing to pay.

I agree and if it was gen I would have thought that it would have some sort of plaque not just embossed into a leather strap,I also think a letter from the supplying AD would have helped as well,A nice story but I fear that its just BS

True. An engraving on the case/caseback is more usual for a gift item. The strap is basically a consumable so with a few years of wear the strap will be in the bin anyway. If I was interested in buying it, my price limit would be the same as for a standand used Colt, and not a penny more.

A "nice" story? That's the best yarn I've heard yet. IF it's true, what a buch of cheapsters the cast was. Each of the main cast made $1,000,000 per episode the last few years of the show. And they buy them Colts? Hey I like my Colt, but not as a golden parachute.

The serial number should reveal the place of sale and the registered owner from Breitling records. Then a simple google search of the show's crew will provide the needed match.
It may just be that the present owner found a stamp set and decided to get a little more for his colt.

epic story but i find the same faults with it as others. why the embossment on the leather strap that will eventually wear out and become junk? wheres the other proof? and why breitling? i love breitlings, but i'd figure they would hand out some rolexs -a brand that EVERYONE knows. i think i once saw a rolex on tz sales forum that had the winn dixie logo on it (story was it was given to a trucker reaching his 20 yr anniversary). it was hideous.

anyway, thanks for sharing. interesting story nonetheless.
