Driver8,

Yes, I know a guy that I see at my tobacco shop regularly that has one and it's great. His Bucherer is on a strap and you know how I feel about that but it's STILL great. I had them send me the catalog with the suggested retail prices and their suggested retail is only $500 USD more for the strap version over the bracelet version. The bracelets they make look as good as LING bracelets in pictures but I've never actually handled one. I can tell you one thing though, these Patravi's are AWESOME and definitely built for guy's like us that love LINGS ! And Admin, if you are listening quit WASTING your money on gymnasium wall clocks and get a Bucherer if you are going STRAY. The only other watch out there that I can think of that is uglier and has LESS detail and is even more PLAIN than those gymnasium wall clocks is the Bell and Ross. If this continues Driver8 and I may have to discuss flying to Canada to see you.

Here we are Ling Man. Feast your eyes on this baby -

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CARL-F-BUCHERER-P ... dZViewItem

Brand new. He's had a few offers on it - probably all offering offensively low figures - but I wouldn't be surprised if you could pick it up from this guy for between EUR5000 to EUR5500.

We need to know the lug widths - anything less than 24mm just won't do it justice. Any info on that in your catalogue Ling Man?

That thing is awesome. And another thing I noticed is on the specs for this model they say that it's 15.5 MM thick, well they must mean just the watch case itself without the bezel because the one my friend has looks almost as thick as a Super Avenger. every time I see my friend at the tobacco shop I have him take his off and let me look at it and I'm telling you pictures don't do these justice, these watches are fabulous. My catalog has very little in the way of specs, just pictures and a price list. This Patravi Traveltec GMT is $10,500 USD on a strap and $10,900 on a bracelet.

Driver8,

I think it has to be 24 MM on the lugs because the watch is 46.6 MM, it would look weird if the lugs were smaller than that I think. Figure it this way your Nav Worlds are 46 MM and they have 24 MM lugs

I'm just saying judging by the picture alone I wouldn't have noticed it as clearly being a Motors...maybe I don't look at the Bentley cataglogue enough, maybe you're getting some enlarged version of the picture that I'm not getting (since I definitely can't make out a '50' on the dial!) but it just looks like a large white faced watch that could well be a Breitling.

Good point, but I've not managed to handle one myself so the pics could be deceiving.

The website has some good info and pictures. I think the SS with black dial on the bracelet would be the way to go, although (and I know you'll disagree!) I do really like the rose gold version on the black strap too.

Driver8,

Actually that particular model is OK with me on the strap although if I bought one I would get a bracelet. You have to understand that in addition to the fact that I just like the looks of bracelets better than straps, down here where I live from August through October the humidity is so thick you can cut it with a knife. Down here you really have to be able to WASH your watches after wearing them in the summer. If you walked around all summer down here wearing a strap every day, by the end of the summer the thing would STINK. I have my eye on that Rose Gold model though, we will see how my new advertising goes and maybe I might pop up with one some day. In the meantime I think the Stainless, black dial model will be my next move. Also these Patravi's are unique in that most people don't even know about them. My friend that wears one is LOADED he drives around in a Bentley and he's a very successful restaurant owner so he's out and about all the time and he said I was the first person that's ever known what that watch was since he's had it. And actually that is the first one that I have even seen anyone wearing, the only other ones I have ever seen were always just pictures. The first one I ever saw was in Cigar Aficionado Magazine so I asked Admin about them and as usual he knew all about them and turned me on to the Patravi Traveltec. I'd say that if we got them it would be a long time before we would ever see anyone else wearing one. So far it seems that only watch freaks like us on this forum have ever even heard of them.

That's a good point about wearing straps in the heat. Obviously in the UK excessive heat and humidity is rarely a concern!

I've never seen a Traveltec in the flesh - only ever in pictures - so there is no issue of it ever being a common sight. In fact Bucherer as a name has been around for a while but they've been through a few incarnations as a company and never really hit the big time in terms of mass market appeal. However for the likes of us, that not remotely a bad thing.

I'd have to see a couple in person to decide if I felt the built was as good as I hope it is before taking the plunge, but in terms of styling I think they are really great.
