Thanks guys... I have a number of watches including Breitlings Rolex's Omega's but there is something about the Chronomat B01 that I am not comfortable with... Maybe I will give it a chance and see if I get used to it or alternatively try a strap as someone mentioned above...

What Breitlings Rolexs' and Omegas do you have? I can't believe that you consider the chronomat b01 "too heavy". If your rolex and omegas are on bracelets, there's not such difference in weight.
Yeah, it's a heavy watch (made of SS and solid SS bracelet). But you can't say it's "too heavy" comparing with the others that you have unless you compared with a cheap plastic digital watch.

Here's how it REALLY IS

Holy crap, I almost fell off my chair laughing! But, you hit the nail on the head! And, you can wail on the guitar, nicely done.

You gave me some ideas yesterday so I adjusted the bracelet on the B01. I generally wear my watches fairly loose but it seems with the B01 slightly tighter works better for me. Kept it on all afternoon yesterday and did not feel the discomfort I had previously experienced.
Someone asked what other watches I have... Rolex GMTIIc, Omega speedmaster, Breitling Chronol Avenger.......but even with the chrono avenger which is my daily watch its always been comfortable..
So it seems problem fixed after all. it was just the strap adjustment and not my assumption that the watch was too heavy.

Don't call strap to a bracelet or acceldebt gonna get mad. We had a long discussion about straps and bracelets on another thread.
Glad to hear that you fixed the problem.

I cringe when I see watches worn like loose bangles. I personally think it looks terrible and that watch is going to get scratched and dented.

Pleased you have solved the weight problem. (With the help of great therapy from Acceldebt).

I understand what the poor man is saying. I wear a Steel super Avenger and its quite heavy. When i fall asleep i have a strange habit of lying with my arms up in the air,( what a weirdo eh ? ). Anyway i have been hit on the bridge of the nose and the skin broke, i have been hit in the face a lot of times. I wear it on left wrist, it can be a real shock sometimes i think i have a burglar robber and have just been punched until i wake properly and realise again whats happened. I had to go to the Doctors about 18 months ago with bruised testicles. Apparently people sleep in funny positions and can be almost acrobatic during sleep. What happens with me is when i fall asleep my muscles relax completely when i fall deep asleep. So ergo my wrist bends pulling the rest of my arm with it down with gravity. I hear you cry, you moron! why not take your watch off for bed. WEll i like my watch i bought and paid for it and i wear it always, i love it. I suppose one day it may fracture my skull and i will have to type with a straw in my mouth.
AS for the guy who thinks his watch is too heavy i can sympathise but quarter kilo on a grown man is nothing really, that is if you are a real man!!! lol
My ssssspecs are i am 6ft 2 inches tall quite heavily framed not fat but i do have a small keg not big definately not big cause i dont drink, neither did my Dad and he had a belly. So when my wrist with a steel strapped super Avenger stots of the bridge of my nose the momentum and weight are quite severe,,,lol. TRue as i liv e and breath. Stay with your watch get used to it, and you really egt used to a big heavy beautiful watch. If you change back, it seems like a normal mansized watch about 40mm is like a Ladies size. Them you will realise whether you are a man or not.....lol sorry its not too heavy its comforting to know it is there. Come on Be a butch John Wayne type, not a Marion type. Its a watch you will love and never be without a Breitling without a fight or a serious arrest or amputation.. That video is really really hilarious. Why did you hold back ? Why didnt you let him know what you REALLY thought... Made me double up laughing. Thats what a president or prime minister should be like no holds barred give him both barrels to his face... When they are a G19 or whatever number it is ! Straight forward feelings attack give nowt but truth, great mate....

Hi. I have a 2010 chronomat B01 but find it lives in the safe as it just too heavy. So I am thinking of going for a Navi B01 or normal Navi. Am I likely to find this more comfortable ?
Maybe a stupid question as it's a personal preference issue but it would be good to know if anyone else has any experience of this ?

Can't imagine a B01 being too heavy, but it's a matter of taste. I like the feel of a chunk of steel on my wrist. 8)

Maybe you're just finding the balance wrong on the Chronomat rather than the weight per se?

I think you raise a good point. I could never quite adjust to my Chronomat. If I wore it tightly enough so that it stayed put, it hurt. (Sorry if that makes me a f*cking wimp, Ling Man, but unless you want to pay the bills for my carpal tunnel syndrome therapy, I suggest you let it slide. And, for what it's worth, if I allow the size of my watch to dictate my sexual preferences, I've got more to worry about than just you making fun of me.) If I wore it loosely enough so that it didn't hurt, it flopped and looked silly. Just switching to a slightly smaller watch (the Chrono SuperOcean) has made all the difference. The CSO isn't that much lighter than the Chronomat, but the dimensions keep it centered better, such that it wears well with just a little play in the bracelet. The CSO also looks more appropriate on me, with my 6.5 inch, somewhat bony wrist. But I guess my point is, I think it's more a matter of proportion and balance, as you said, rather than weight; at least that seems to be the case with me.

Back to the OP's question: no, you're not alone in your feelings (although my experience was with an Evo, rather than an 01). Also, I think you would find a Navi more comfortable. I tried on a Montbrillant Olympus (on croc) and I found it very comfortable. If you've solved the issue, good, but I would say don't let the masses convince you you're less worthy of a Ling just because you want something a touch lighter, smaller or better balanced. Not all of us are destined for watches over 42mm, and that's OK.

As has been said, no one should take Ling Man too seriously - he doesn't!

I think that the challenge with some of both the windrider and aeromarine ranges is the height of the watch. As a result the centre of gravity is quite a long way above the wrist so the weight tends to move around and be more noticeable. For many people it's just a case of getting used to it, but for others it just never feels right.

I think a lot of it is about wrist geomatry, as you say bones etc.

I wasn't either. But serious or not, I anticipated a rebuff.
