I just made the plungle after months of watch shopping all of my options for the money I wanted to spend. I ended up purchasing a B01 with Black dial and bracelet, and think this will be a very nice heirloom to pass on to my son when it's time. I got it through an AD here in Chicago and wound up getting 30% off and no tax because I had it shipped out of state then back to me. I think it was a great deal seeing in this economy people aren't dropping money on luxury items like past years. I alreay have my eye on a few straps from Strap Culture. My question is how can I find out when my watch was manufactured? I called Breitling and was told the dats is stamped between the top lugs which it is not. Any help is appreciated.

Isn't it between the bottom lugs? The week of the year and then the year that it was made.

Between the bottom lugs and you need to remove the bracelet to see it.

That is a beautiful piece! Congrats!
For me that sensatonal bracelet is one of the main features on B01 (and on Breitlings over all for that matter.) I´d just go with it. I´ve been sporting my AS on black leather some time now, just for the change. It looks great, but it´s absolutely at it´s best on metal.

I agree, the bracelet makes the watch but it will be nice to pick up a few straps to change it up once in a while. How easy/difficult is it to change the bracelet/strap myself, or should it be done by a jeweler/AD. I know there's a special tool you can buy online, but I don't want to F#@K things up if it's not something I should be doing myself.

Not too difficult with the right tool. Get yourself a Bergeon 6767-F or a 6111.
