Hi All,

I apologize if this might be a little bit of a long introduction, but I figured I might as well explain how I got to where I am tonight ( wearing my new 6.75).

I have been looking for a watch that "caught my eye " for a while now. I only knew that I didn't want a Rolex and Tag ( not because their not beautiful, but because I have a lot of friends with them ). I was just starting to look into different brands and what was out there when I headed to Vegas for a bachelor party.

Im sitting at the bar and I look over and this guy has on the most amazing looking watch. So I ask him what it is and he says its a Breitling. I had never heard of Breitling before. I ask if I can take a picture of his watch so I can do more research and he says no problem. So with technology these days I spend the next few hours in my iphone looking at pics on ebay. The next day I head to a watch shop in the forums to look for "my new Dream watch." I find the Breitlings and realize there are some amazing watches. I show the AD the pic and he says it looks like a discontinued 6.75. So I look at all of the new ones. Im amazed.

When I come home I quickly tell my wife what I have discovered. She isn't quite as excited as I am.Then I start looking for any Breitling forum's where I can find some more info about this watch. I quickly create a account and post my first topic - " What style Breitling is this?". The answers poor in - sadly - Its a FAKE!!!! I'm crushed. How did this happen, the watch that has finally caught my attention is a fake. Well a few days later I got over it and began to research different Breitling models. I settled on a 6.75. Next I went looking for a AD and thanks to some great help here, I found George. He's been great to work with. So tonight after all of this I am the proud owner or a Bentley 6.75 with a black face and blackk croc strap. I already have my eye on another 6.75 with a blue face and a white dialed SA. Thanks for all of the great insight on this forum. I plan on being a part of it for a long time. I have added a link. As you will see I dont own a great camera and my photography skills are lacking, but you will get the idea. The first image is of the fake that brought me to all of you. Thanks for reading! I hope I added this link correctly.

What a fab story. :lingsrock:

Can't believe the guy with the fake had the bare-faced cheek to pretend it was a real Breitling and let you take a pic to go looking on the internet...

Still, it all worked out, and you got a great watch and a new hobby, so I guess it all turned out okay. Congrats and welcome!

That's a great story, and sounds like a very rare occasion where afake actually helped the brand.
