What a better incoming call to receive on Friday evening at the pub whilst having drinks with friends? I finally got the call that my Navitimer is ready for pickup. I bought it on November 20, 2010 and it is finally ready for me to pick up. Well, technically the head of the watch was here a few weeks ago but the croc strap and deployment still had to make their way all the way here. Tomorrow I will be picking her up. Its such a good feeling to know the exact time and date that I will finally have it in my possession after so many days, weeks, and months of waiting and all the uncertainty. I am sure I can say it, even now before I have the watch, that the wait was worth it. As the saying goes: the juice was worth the squeeze. I am very excited
:superman: :woohoo:

February 20, 2011

Here are some quick pictures I just took this morning. I couldn't take the watch off my wrist or the stupid grin from my face yesterday so that is why I am posting the pics today. Pardon the bad quality. I took them with my BB.

From one standard Navi owner to another.....the wait will be well worth it. Such an easy watch to wear. Very comfortable and is suitable in most casual non-sporting occasions.

Plus...this model just got a little harder to get into with the discontinuation of the non-01 edition. Yours is one of the Last of the Mohicans

Hahaha, I know! I found out they were being discontinued from a good source on here and there were a few painful days of uncertainty that were not fun to say the least. Luckily I called my AD and they informed me I was one of the last folks to get one. The Last of the Mohicans indeed 8)

Nope, not the 01, I got the "now previous" model with the Calibre 23. I will post pics later today after I pick it up. Warming though, don't expect the same level of quality pics that are on here, mine will be coming from a crackberry

It wasn't easy if I am honest. Can't wait to finally have it on my wrist :D

So now I am going to the gym and then will swing by the AD to pick it up. BTW, I will also leave my SuperOcean to get adjusted. Its served me flawlessly for three years however as of late I notice that at the start of each month I set it 2 minutes ahead of time and then by the 15th its 1 minute behind already. I am guessing a standard adjustment should do it. I will also have the AD swap my leather strap with my pro II bracelet.

I just posted some pictures of my new beauty :D Hope you guys like them despite the bad quality. Hopefully I will have better ones next weekend.

While I was at the AD I also dropped off my SO since its been loosing time (-12 seconds per day). I guess next week it will be off to TO and they'll have a look at it. I also included my pro II bracelet in case after the estimate they decide it needs an overhaul I want them to polish the whole thing. The overhaul for the SO is not that bad, $330.

I had a quick question, if they say it just needs a regulation I am assuming they will still charge for that since the warranty has expired. I bought the watch March 2008. I am assuming the regulation wont cost me 50$ must be much more than that. At that point, am I not better to pay a bit more and just get the overhaul so I don't have to send it again next year anyways???

Thanks,

Congrats. I've never seen one before with disappearing paint on the subdials. Is that the new "Amaze Your Friends" model? :poke:

Very Nice, Enjoy In Good Health!

In My Opinion Nothing Says "Breitling" More Than The Classic Navitimer.

Cheers,

Enezdez

That deployant looks to fit surprisingly well right out of the box. I the have heard that crocco leather usually takes time to stretch and can be uncomfortable @ first, but yours seems to be just fine.

Good call on black crocc....I will add mine soon enough. Black calf is more traditional, but that dial and the sheen looks sooo good with a highly shined OEM strap

Agreed. Really the first few pics make the black croco look much shinier than it really is. It's more of a low gloss. Love the Ling crocos though - I certainly have enough!

sharkman: Not a lot of people know this but the subdials numbers are a very territorial and mystical creature...they only show themselves in certain light and to only a select few :geek: I guess the disappearing subdials are courtesy of my awesome phone camera.

David 168: They gave me the hat at the AD. The registration thing is only in the states, if memory serves me correctly, in Canada the AD has all the swag in the store already. When I picked it up, the lady went to the backstore and brought me the hat

thomasenlow1: Indeed the croc is pretty hard and when I wear the watch it sits funny on my wrist and in some places around my wrist there is a bunch of space because the leather is still hard. Hopefully with time that will go away.

The leather croco is astonishing though :cheer:

On a side note, I noticed I don't have the COSC certificate from Breitling in the stuff that came with the watch. What's up with that and how do I go about getting one :?:

Oh too bad!!!! You send the watch back to Breitling, Breitling takes the movement out, then they ship the movement to COSC...by pack mule, COSC recertifies the movement and ship it back to Breitling....by way of Tibet...by Yak, Breitling reassemblies the watch and then ships it to you, Canadian Customs charges duty on the fair value of the work by Breitling and animal feed used in transit, and then you get you watch and a certificate back. Likely by Christmas.

Seriously, just contact the AD and have them order a replacement. It does cost about $60 here in the States.
