I just bought a Breitling SuperOcean.

Can I wear this model with a suit?

I know on the Rolex forums it was noted that the Submariner should NOT be worn with a suit.... the Rolex forum stated the Explorer 1 and 2 were a better choice with a suit.

Is the SuperOcean ok with a suit?

I wear my steelfish with a suit with no problem. I also wear my Rolex GMT Pepsi with a suit and dont think anything about it.

Of course you can. I might look weird if it were on a rubber strap but anything else looks look fine.

As for not wearing a Sub in a suit, well that's just ludicrous. One of the greatest things about a Sub is that it can easily be the only watch you have and fit in any situation, casual to dressy it just works. If James Friggin Bond wears one in a suit that's all the evidence I need.

The fact that people on Rolex forums say a Sub should not be worn with a suit just goes to show you not to put too much stock in what forum folks tell you, and go with your own sense of what works. IMO, a Sub goes just fine with a suit, as the pic below shows. As for a SO - I'm split. The current model SO, I'd say no, but the older gen, possibly so. I wear my Chrono SuperOcean with a suit, and I think it looks fine, although it also looks perfectly good with more casual attire. That's the great thing about a number of Breitlings: they straddle the line well between dressy and functional. As always, YMMV.

This thread looks awfully similar to one Archie asked about "Is it OK to wear a Navitimer with a suit" a year or so back......

EDIT - I see Roff's found the link to that exact same thread on Archie's other new post today. I rest my case.

Exactly the thought I had when I saw this thread title. You can't really argue with James Bond, can you?

The truth is that the only true Bond watch is a 1016 Explorer 1 - aka today as the 14270 Explorer 1.

The book by Ian Fleming clearly states this,.... also Iam Fleming's real life watch was a Explorer 1 Rolex.

The movie can not be trusted as the movie even starred Seiko and Omega pieces - OMFG!

Guys, did you really take his post seriously? It's a set up so he can swoop in and appear smart - the ultimate bold repositor all watch and fashion knowledge.

The proof he's a fraud is that he has to use set ups to fulfill his self image.

No, the watch wears the moron. Reluctantly and with great sadness on the part of the watch.

FACTS:

1) No posted picture of said SuperOcean (no proof)
2) Supposed watch "expert" doesn't know if $1500 is a good deal on an old SO without a strap
3) Questions start being ask about wearing a SO with a suit
4) Patek is the greatest watch on the planet and his grail and he "owns" one and all others pail in comparison
5) any ETA movement is junk (acording to Archie)
6) been banned from multiple forums for spreading the BS
7) Did he mention that he owns a Patek?
If you owned your grail Patek, why the hell would you be wearing anything BUT the Patek
9) No recent proof of the Patek OR the Superocean

Bottom line, Archie is full of crap and probably doesnt still own any of the watches in that OLD photo, let alone the SuperOcean he's talking about.
