First off I literlary just came accross this site and it's awsome. I Just bought my first Breitling. I got the Super Avenger White Dial with the bracelet. Just wanted to know if there is anything that i should know about this watch, like should i get a winder for it, the lady at the store said something like i can only wind it certain times? Any suggestions or comment will be great. Thanks in advance.

J.T.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new watch! That's a great way to start your Breitling relationship! (And it IS a relationship! I think I spend more on my watches than I do on my girlfriend! )

There's nothing you really need to worry about with your SA as it's a superb watch. But just remember the following -

1) Don't use the quickset date function between 8pm and 3 am as it can mess up the mechanism. If you feel the need to change the date during these time, just wind the hours on first past 3am before using the quickset date.
2) Don't get your watch too near any strong magnets as you can magnetise the movement, meaning a trip to your AD to demagnetise it.
3) Don't drop it or subject it to too many serious vibrations (like wearing it while using a hammer drill!)
4) Dont use the pushpieces underwater.
5) If you use it in the sea, make sure you wash it off in clean water afterwards.
6) Also if you swim in it, make sure you have the water resistancy checked every couple of years.
7) Get it serviced when it needs it (i.e. if the time-keeping starts to not be as good. That's usually the best sign of a service being required).
8 ) You don't need a watch winder if you wear it regularly. In fact you don't NEED a watchwinder at all, but they can be handy if you have more than one watch.
9) You can wind it whenever you like - there are no restrictions on that, and you can't overwind it, so just wind away!
10) Wear it! Love it! Enjoy it! Buy some more!

Hey JT

:welcome:

The lady at the store is just an amateur. If you want to get SA know how from a pro, listen to the Driver!

Great watch if you've got the arms to carry it off. Unfortunately, it would look totally stupid on my puny wrist!

Wear it well!
