So my dad got himself an Aerospace in 2000, not sure of the exact model number but ever since I have been in love with it. He has promised me a watch for my 18th since I can remember. I'm now eighteen and I got my Breitling! Originally he said that my budget was £1000 so a new Breitling was out of the question. He decided to be generous and increase the budget, so I finally got the watch of my dreams.

The first thing that really grabbed my attention was the beautiful shiney bakelite box which looks wonderful sitting on my desk.

The watch itself is very nice indeed, understated yet absolutely gorgeous (to me anyway) and the leather strap is easily the finest piece of leather I have touched, its starting to show signs of wear and creases from the pin buckle now. I cannot wait to see what it looks like in a few months time. I've only had the watch for a week but hopefully I will have it for a very long time!

Photo attached below - taken on my phone so I apologise if the quality isn't very good. The hands and digital face were out of sync when this was taken, that has since been rectified!

Thanks for reading - Jake.

Edit: just realised this should probably be in the 'review' section (even though its not really a review!)

Hey

Congratulations! I hope you always remember the love with which it was given.

It'll never sit uncomfortably on your wrist, thats for sure.

Get into it a bit and try new straps too, you'll find it easy to change them, and you can get very creative with a fantastic watch.

Best wishes

Davey

Having looked before I received the watch, Breitling straps are incredibly dear!? (sorry for the noob question that follows) but is that because the leather is such good quality, or is it simply because it says Breitling on it? I think I will always stick with leather straps though, there is something about leather straps that I have always seen as being timeless and more classic than metal straps. Also I tend to be a big fan of brown leather hence my choice of watch  so I won't be investing in any straps just yet! But I'm sure I wil somewhere down the line :D

I haven't yet found a strap that beats Breitling quality - they are exceptional. ABP in Paris are comparable quality in aftermarket straps - and they are comparable pricing.

You're making me want to get another Aerospace...as you can see from my sig, I've owned at least one of each generation, except the new dial B79. Hmmm...do I really want a B-1 or Hercules???

Love the color!

It is indeed very beautiful, at college in my lessons I find myself just staring at it in awe, not taking in a single thing that my teacher is saying

Unfortunately part of getting this for my 18th was that my 21st will be treated as a normal birthday, which I am okay with, I don't really think 21st birthdays are that special anymore, you can do everything when you're 18 in the UK anyway!
