Man I would have blown a gasket. The money 'we' spend buying these luxury items keeps those 'AD's' in business. Need we remind them?

Plus, I currently own 2 Tag's (Carrera Chrono and a Link) and "Tag Heuer" should not be used in the same sentence as Zenith (or for that matter numerous other higher-end watches).

Set everything aside, the big issue here is the lack of good customer service that was rendered (or not rendered); sorry to hear about your bad experience. I bet a well-placed phone call to Zenith would have an impact. Good luck~

No, you're not expecting too much. And I agree with RJ, defies belief that Zenith would send it back in a Tag box.

I've seen the Casio service centre here in Australia do a far, far better job than that on a G-Shock.

That sucks Roff i would first call or email the service center where the watch was serviced and then inform them of everything that happened then i would talk to the AD cause i'm sure thats not the only watch you bought from them. Anyway you probably know what to do better then me but you definitely not expecting too much you have to get your money's worth and service is a big part of it. Good luck

It is my watch - I checked that, sad that I had to.

No point in talking to the AD, they are owned by the distributor and they had a major barney with Zenith and sent all the watches back so not an AD anymore

Zenith's website has a helpful customer service section - you have to enter the movement number and security number from your ownership card thing. Of course I couldn't do that because I was never sent an ownership card thing - I just have the paper card (which is apparently supposed to be temporary) from when I bought it.

On a follow up Roff, just read an article in a Swiss newspaper.

It seems that Zenith is spending at least CHF 20 million for optimizing their production line and thus being able to respond to higher demand. Part of this investment will be for refurbishing some factory buildings at Le Locle, most of which were built in 1865.

That sucks. This experience is enough for me to scratch Zenith off the "need to own" list. Sad, because I really like thier open models.

Oh Zenith will hear about it - and probably reference this forum as well, they should know what the consensus reaction is and that people are questioning buying Zenith because of bad customer service.

This is a good post Roff; it totally sucks that you've had a bad experience but great that you're sharing it as it's good to know. I'm not looking for a Zenith edition at the moment however if it ever got to choosing between two brands you were stuck on, this could be a deciding factor.

I sincerely hope the service improves soon.

On a lighter note, did you burn the Tag box

Sad to see that Zenith is another watch company that has obvious issues with customer service, I ansolutely think you are not expecting too much at all. As you know, IWC have even worse customer service, and I am henceforth boycotting their products, no matter how much I was a Perpetual Calendar Portuguese!!

Well let's resurrect this old nugget.....

I contacted customer service at Zenith at the time - I was supposed to do it through their website using the number on my warranty card but Grigoros have never managed to send me my permanent warranty, just the temporary one that I got at the time of purchase. Still, managed to send an e-mail and got an acknowledgement from a customer service manager in Switzerland with an apology.

We will now see whether their customer service has improved because the date has now broken again

I guess another 3 months without it while they see if they can fix it properly this time.

It's amazing, especially given this economy, that companies have lost perspective on customer service.

There was a post not too long ago on the Zenith forum on TZ where a member sent in his watch for service and it came back with scratches all over the movement. From what I remember, Zenith eventually took care of him and I think the moderator of the Zenith forum on there helped him out. Here is the thread:
