Just about ready to buy my first Breitling (Black Datora). Was planning on buying on from local dealer but have seen some better deals online and on ebay. The ebay ones I've been looking at seem to be from high positive feedback. But I'm still a bit wary. If I do get one from other than a dealer is there a definite way to verify authenticity?

Post pictures (large and clear) here. We are fortunate to have a "team" of fake identifiers on the forum and most fakes are easy to spot in the first 10 seconds to those who know the difference. With that said, it can't be stressed enough to buy the seller, not the watch. The sellers reputation, references ect are the most important thing.

Or avoid all the doubt and buy from an authorised dealer. (BTW, most AD's have pre-owned Breiltings in stock even if you dont see any in the display case).

That's backwards. Post the pics before you get it. You could save yourself from a lot of headaches.
