Hi,
My father always told me... "The belt must match the shoes..."

So I'm wondering, how does a brown strap look on a black dialed Navitimer?

Can anyone provide pictures maybe?

Thanks.

A dark brown strap on a black dial watch is common. A black dial Navi looks awesome on brown. At this moment I have on a black dial SOC on brown croco - works great.

It looks fantastic on a brown croc.

I used to think the same as you that perhaps the black and brown didn't go. Then member mah posted pics a couple of years ago of a black dial Navi World with a brown croc. I fell in love.

I just looked up that thread, and unfortunately the pics are no longer there. :boohoo:

I've always loved the look of a black dial and a brown strap.

I dont have a Navi (yet, in two days I will though! :D ) but I actually prefer to wear the brown leather over the black on my Black Dial CE.

IMO the brown strap looks classy with quite a few dials.

VERY NICE, thank you gents. Yes, I'll think I'll get the croco. ("but not the real croco...that would be cruel) :-) "Bare Naked Ladies - If I had a million dollars" - reference :-)

Which one? There are three straps shown in those pics. The bottom 4 pics (including the wrist shot) show the complete "Bund" strap which is a KHS "Raptor". The middle pics show an OEM Breitling brown croco strap of pre-2003 vintage, meaning it is a 22-18mm vice the current 22-20mm version. (IOW, slightly more "taper" from the interhorns to the buckle. The top pics show an inexpensive (around 20 bucks) aftermarket croco. The "Pad" is the same in all the pics, the one from the KHS Raptor. I also have the black version and I often use the pad from it along with an OEM Breitling black calf or black croco. I like the contrast of the white stitching on the OEM straps with the brown stitching of the pad. I am considering buying a dark brown OEM calf strap (22-20mm, white stitching) to go with the brown pad if the two browns of the leather are close enough to each other.

If brown isn't your cup of tea, below is the black Raptor pad on the black OEM Breitling calf (top twp pics) and the OEM Breitling croco (bottom pics). In each example, the strap is the "long" version (130-90mm vice the standard 120-80mm length) because the pad takes up some of the length of the strap. My wrist is 7 3/4" and a standard or long strap is ok by itself but with the pad the long fits better because I can use middle holes for the tang. Hope this helps..
Best,
Ron

PS. Here is the OEM Breitling black calf on the Raptor pad attached to my Evo. It's a "tool" watch you know...

Has anyone got any links to post for (dare I say) non Breitling croc straps, that can be recommended. Not normally one for non branded products, but I'm sure there are some equally good manufacturers out there, that maybe come in a bit cheaper than the big 'B'.
