hi roff the pic is from uk ebay. thanks for identifying the scale for me. ive had a closer look and it seems the red scale goes over the top of the black breitling writing. a bit strange as i would have thought the scale would have been there first. its not worked for a few years and will soon be going in for repair soon at a local place as i dont fancy posting it anywhere. in time i would like to have the body restored and the face cleaned too.

thanks for the help chaps :lingsrock:

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure that it's a Breitling Museum / Breitling Shop piece (he's banned from selling on eBay and has to sell under another name).

I'm not convinced about the originality of yours with the way that the Breitling and Fab. Suisse works alongside the pulsometer scale, but with your known history dating back 60+ years it would have been an early modification which is very unusual.

It most definitely is. He's removed the BreitlingMuseum watermark from virtually all of his ebay sales but there's a couple that remain out of the 12 pages of "Breitling" watches he's currently selling on the bay.

I believe the movement is a Venus 12 ligne. According to the Book it was introduced by Breitling in 1935 as "Montbrillant 12"
and was an exclusive, reserved caliber, for Breitling (at least for a few years).

You can see an example of one in this article.

http://www.invenitetfecit.com/modeles/c ... teur2.html

It was marketed as a low cost chronograph to hook in the young and give them a taste for chronograph watches.

The dial of this one seems to be enamel (do you know if it is), it's hard to tell from the picture, but to me the
"Swiss made", looks to be fired into the dial, while the Breitling Fab Suisse has been added on. It's probable
that this dial would not have had Breitling on it and someone decided to add it on. If it is enamel and that
is the case then the additional text may come off when it's cleaned.

''BREITLING THE BOOK'' but it appears to me it may be similar to the one featured on page 78

Yes, it's a nameless dial as well. Although as said Paul's double names look good as well.

Just had a closer look at the one in the french article and that says "fab Suisse" and "Swiss Made", but doesn't have Breitling on the dial.
