Do you know why the Arkansas women go to college at UofA to find husbands? They have plenty of cousins there. :nana:

Heeeeyyyyyooooooo!!!!!

If I'm not mistaken Iowa City isn't too far out of the sticks either.
:poke:

Know why Iowa frat boys don't own sweaters? Their "girlfriends" have all the wool they need.

I can see why you left the UK, Roff. That's one heck of view. I'm pretty sure that places designated as "Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty" here aren't as unspoilt as that. If I had a "jealousy" emoticon I'd be using it right now!

Yeah, it's a little different than growing up in Kent.

At least some of that land is classed as Provincially Significant Wetland and as such is eligible for tax breaks if you agree to leave it natural - I think probably all of it that you can see. There are some cottage lots right on the water, but thankfully you can't see those

I have it worse than Jakarta. The only trees in Singapore are hard wood evergreens and there is nothing a beautiful as this scene. When it is 30 'C every day and 100% humidity, the only thing that goes from green to brown is the grass!
Wonderful photo also.

Well I do log my property for firewood, but only pulling out about 10 bush cords a year so we should be OK for a while. Not sure on the oil - I think that's all west and east of us. There is still some Great Lakes shipping in and out of Midland harbour around the peninsular from us, but we usually only get recreational stuff as we're in a corner of Georgian Bay with no access to anywhere.

Great image !
Those brilliant Autumn colors and clear blue skies are a reminder of some of what I miss of the 17 years living in Northern Vermont on the shores of Lake Champlain .. However, the Winter winds, the below zero temperatures and the white frozen landscape for the five months that follow, once the spectacular colors have passed are not missed.
Thanks for the reminder and for sharing ..
It's appreciated.

I promised a winter shot and we finally had a bright day today. Not quite the same spot because of the snow, but......

Beautiful. It will not be long before you will be able to take the Spring shot.

Spring is well on it way over here anyway.

Hey Altair - all that white stuff on the ground - it's called "snow", and believe it or not it's made of frozen water. :poke:
