Thats a beauty, I dont know if you can get hold of ''BREITLING THE BOOK'' but it appears to me it may be similar to the one featured on page 78, or the 3rd edition of ''SCHIFFERS BOOK FOR BREITLING'' on page 29. Hope this may help you .

The fact that it has Breitling on the dial is inconsistent with the reference pieces that hardrockminer referred to, and would be odd (but not unknown) for a watch that would have to be from the early 30s as a single pusher.

I don't recognize the movement as anything that Breitling ever used, but there were some weird ones in the single pusher days.

However, the biggest problem for me is the dial - why would a genuine dial have Fab. Suisse (underneath Breitling) and Swiss Made on it??? My suspicion is that Breitling Fab. Suisse was added later.

Do you have any numbers on the caseback??

Actually I've seen some with FAB suisse written on them... and all of them single pushers... Paul used to have one... perhaps he can chime in and give us some more input...

Looks fine to me. This pic is the one I had last year and it had the same (Valjoux I think) movement. Notice the dial is very similar.

I've got no issues with Fab. Suisse, it's the Fab Suisse and Swiss Made that looks weird. That said, Paul's piece looks accurate - it's just odd.

I think that it's a Valjoux movement as well, these early ones are just not my sweet spot - it's definitely not a Mido as suggested earlier.

Touche! Roff...

it would seem a bit redundant to write "fab suisse" and "swissmade" on the dial...

the dial does look beautiful though... I like it...

found these pics earlier with the same movement as mine so seems original.
i agree the breitling fab suisse looks a bit weird seems unlikely they would have it overlapping the red like that. if its been added must have been before it came into my grandfathers possession which im told was around wwII time.

Fortunately for you it's a lot earlier than that.

Serial numbers aren't reliable this early, but it's actually going to date to the 30s. If the serial had dated to 1949 then it would have been fake because Breitling had moved to two pusher chronos by then.

If that picture is as it looks - from one of BreitlingMuseum's sites, then be very, very wary of anything that you find. That guy has been banned from here (under about 6 usernames so far) and as any of the vintage experts here will tell you he is well known for selling fake vintage Breitlings.

The red spiral is a pulsometer scale and was used for taking the pulse.
