Hi guys
I purchased a colt quartz (Black Dial) from an AD last week and its a really beautiful watch.
Upon closer inspection today i have noticed that the Tachymeter doesnt rest or (click) directly into the 12 oclock position and seemed to be resting somewhat slight before the 12 mark, I was judging this by the white triangular marking on the dial itself.
However as i have been looking closer i have noticed that the problem is that the dial itself seems to be mis-aligned and infact is sitting at about 2 milimeters off where it should be, resulting in each significant triangular marker point 12,3,6.9 being shifted in a clockwise manner slightly off where it should be.

Any info or advice would be great, im so upset as ive been wanting a breitling for many years and seem to have one that has either passed the quality checks slightly imperfect or its been knocked out of line on the way to my AD as he had to order it in.
Thanks in advance

Seems obvious, but I'd be hammering on the AD's door, and asking for an immediate replacement, or expedited repair under warranty.

And if it does need to go off for repair, a nice follow up letter to Breitling - should get you some goodies at least! 8)

I actually visited today and a member of staff told me that this was normal for them to be slightly off, so i have been to a few other places and compared to the colts they have on show, mine definately isnt right, so i will be going back tomorrow.

oh by the way my local AD ordered it for me from a place called Lumbers which happens to be in Leicester (saw your location ) :p

 Jeez, yet another example of an AD employee spouting complete and utter nonsense! Ask to speak to someone who knows what they're talking about, because rest assured, your watch's dial should NOT be misaligned like that.

I know we cannot for legal reasons but I would love to see an AD 'name & shame' thread.

That sort of comment from an ad is disgusting and unprofessional. Breitling should know about this I suggest you give them a call directly (HQ number on the website).

Lumbers are generally OK - I'd be surprised if they let a misaligned dial slip through the net. Maybe it got damaged in transit, but then your AD should have inspected it before selling it to you - certainly if it wasn't his own stock.

And for an AD employee to suggest that it was 'normal for the dial to be slightly off' - that's incredible  - what is he doing - work experience or something? :huh

Hi guys, I have phoned Breitling today and they have assured me that it will be fixed as its under warranty for two years, so tomorrow I am going to take it back to where i bought and and try again, however if for whatever reason they are unhelpful i have been told i can send it directly via special delivery *sighhhh* waited years for a watch like this, trust my luck :(

Thanks for the advice.

I've bought two watches from Lumbers. The second was a used Navitimer Heritage. When a bought it was loosing 2 seconds an hour. I called Lumbers and they immediately said they would have it serviced for me. After it was services, it was loosing 4 seconds an hour! I called Lumbers again and they said they would send it to Breitling UK for a full overhaul. After the overhaul it came back with new hands etc and the timekeeping was much better. Now gaining 15 seconds a day. I also got a two year warrantee on the watch from them for my trouble!

Looking back on it, I can’t believe they gave me the watch back from the service loosing that much time, the Sales Manager checked it on the speaking clock just before he gave it to me. I also can’t believe I accepted an overhaul from Breitling that left the watch 15 seconds fast a day.

But Lumbers DID provide a fantastic service throughout the experience, and I got the watch at a very good price from them.
