Did you catch the Chrono-matic on the dial and the 7740 on the bridge? Actually I'm surprised it runs at all.

Interesting enough...

parts for these calibers (7740 and caliber 12) are hard to come by... he says that he can hear the auto rotor turn... yet he's got a 7740 bridge on it...

on a lighter note that caseback looks superb~!

Worth something as a parts donor, but not sure that I would want it as a project, although he seems to recognise that it's not worth that much - depending on how far below the BIN he'll accept offers. Knowing whether it is auto or not would help.

The 7740 and the Cal 11/12 use the same chrono module which sits on top of the main movement so they can be swapped between the manual and automatic models. He says it's an automatic so we can assume either the chrono module or bridge have been replaced at some point.

Yeah, I'm just thinking that it's worth more as an auto because of the difficulty in sourcing parts for the fragile auto winding mechanism.
