As much as this topic saddens me, I do not know if I should be worried for the future.

Because since December 2009 that I've been wearing it on a daily basis, I have to say that not only I've had no problems with my B01 but it consistently runs within COSC specs.

Just wondering, since most of the problems descried seem to involve the chrono, do you use yours much?

At least once a month, more when I'm flying.

But problems stated also concern the hour and minute hands, even the date change which, up to now, I have not experienced. Based on this topic, should I consider myself lucky?

I hope it's not luck, but if it is I hope your luck continues. :)

Agreed, but until they get those issues resolved, perhaps doing away with the B13 is a hasty move, if indeed that's what they are planning to do.

This thread makes for slightly disappointing reading as it seemed from the early days that the B01 was a good hardy movement as issues were few and far between. Obviously we have to remember that owners with issues are more likely to only sign up on forums like this to a) ask for advice, and b) to bitch about it, so we may have a slightly skewed view, but nevertheless there are a few long-timers on here with B01 issues as well. :? Let's hope Breitling sort these out with a minimum of fuss (although if Stef's situation is anything to go by, this isn't the case), and it's all just down to a new movements teething problems.

I've heard no indication that they are doing that - it will still be the most widely used movement.

To clarify, there is a rumor that the Chronomat is to be produced using only the 01 movement, thus discontinuing the B13-based version. That might be a hasty move, if the 01 is having the kinds of problems being discussed in this thread.

Yes I know that the regular Chronomat is being discontinued, but that has no relevance here, any more than any other model being discontinued. The Valjoux based Chronomat only shares the name with the Chronomat 01, not looks or I suspect target customers. Additionally the Chronomat 01 is only one of the B01 watches just like the Chronomat is only one of the B13 watches.

I disagree. Whether or not the Chronomat 01 shares anything more than a name with the Valjoux-based Chronomat, Breitling still has an investment in that name and the recognition of it by customers. Since the Chronomat is the best-selling Breitling model, it wouldn't make sense for Breitling to cut off that revenue stream unless they believe buyers can be successfully diverted to the Chronomat 01. However, if the 01 movement is having problems, and it gets a reputation as a problematic or troublesome movement, it could affect the sales of the Chronomat 01, and steer customers to other models, or possibly other brands. What was once their best-selling model could end up taking a hit in sales. This is all theoretical, of course, and purely speculative. I'm just echoing Electrosound's comments, and wonder if it wouldn't make more sense for Breitling to work out the bugs in the 01 before making any one watch model exclusively available with that movement.

The same could be said for the Navi, which to me is the most iconic Breitling there is. Unless I'm wrong and they're not going to discontinue the standard Navi and go with just the Navi 01, which I thought that I read that they were going to do. The Navi 01 does have more in common with the ETA based Navi though, just a little bigger and more awesome.

Just an update:

My Chrono function is running non stop since my last post and it has done so flawlessly.

And my B01 has not been losing any time either.
