Well clearly if the paperwork says limited to 30 then it is an LE.

I assume that there just isn't room to engrave it.

But now you leave your own definition, but I know it is not easy.

That's hair splitting - it's still defined as xx / xx, just on the paperwork instead of the watch.

Me too. Strange.

Latest LE from the stables of Andrew Michaels is the Royal Marine Commando, Superocean Steelfish (pro 2 steel bracelet) Original number was 100 but this has now been increased to 150 due to demand. These are being released any day now, picture and details on the Andew Michaels website

Is there a reference to the Breitling "Commando" (Military Quartz) that was sold in some number by Brigade Quartermaster in Marrietta GA, USA around 1987/1988?

Hi,

I am new to the world of luxury watches. Recently i got a Navitimer world as a present from a friend.
I was wearing for a good 4 months before another friend of mine noticed that the watch had encraved on the side of the case the number 24/25 "No 24/25" to be more exact. He insisted this was a limited/special edition.
I googled for more information but i could not find anything about it. I looked closely on the watch and read the encraving below:
" EN CONMEMORACION A LOS 100 ANOS DEL CRUCE DE LOS ALPES - JORGE CHAVEZ"

Naturally i was intrigued. I search on the web again but i could not find anything more on this specific watch. I then stumbled across your forum and realised that maybe i have a chance to find out from you guys.
I would appreciated if someone can give me some information on this watch and also how much it actually costs.
I have attached some pics of the watch, i have removed the stainless stell bracelet and i am now using leather straps.

Thanks
N.

It's a 2010 LE that was commissioned by a Peruvian dealer to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first flight across the Alps by the French Peruvian aviator Jorge Chavez (he died when the plane crashed at the end of the flight). There were also 9 pieces commissioned in gold.

Hi Roff,

Thank you for the quick response. Do you by any chance know what is the retail price of this watch?

Thanks
N.

You'll have to contact the AD who commissioned it - G&G in Peru - http://www.gygjoyeros.com/en/index.html

A rare SuperOcean LE of 30 - "Luna 5 Stars". Found on eBay.

Looks like a 2009 design dial with the 2008 hand set so I'd guess it dates from 2009.

It is believed the watches were given to the crew of the yacht 'Luna' by her owner Roman Abramovich.

That's pretty cool. I guess I need to update this list, but with all of the recent 'same watch different colour rubber' type LEs it's a bit of an uphill task.

You're right Roff.

I wonder if they're worth your time. Personally, I do not consider them real LEs, even if for Breitling they're considered as such.
