To me it is not a big deal. I would expect to pay the shipping there, but them pay the shipping back. I will find out within the next day or 2. I have dropped the seawolf down with my AD. They are talking to breitling to see how much extra they would charge me for refinishing the watch. Since it is there, i my as well get it done while it is there.

Again, if the watch is at the service centre in Toronto it is not Breitling, it's an independent Breitling authorised service centre. There shouldn't be any discussion about how much a case refinishing costs, it's part of the full service which has set pricing that is published on the Breitling website and that Watch Service Centre of Canada (the name of the Grigoros owned repair / servicing arm) has to stick to.

I still don't see why it's acceptable to expect a customer to pay for shipping when submitting an item for a warranty repair. I'm not saying companies don't, or can't, do it; obviously some do. But I don't understand it. That might make an interesting breach of warranty class action suit, assuming the issue hasn't already been litigated - although it may well have been.

Well, the seawolf has been shipped away to the Breitling's service center in Toronto. The regulation is obviously covered under the 2 year warranty. The shipping is gonna cost me $50 there and $50 back, as per the AD states. I have agreed, i my as well get the watch running perfectly. They actually quoted my to refinish the watch also. They stated to perform the total refinish would be $210.00. Considering the watch is in almost perfect condition, i opted to leave it for now, until i get a few dings and scraps in it.

Chances are they will polish it anyway for no charge as part of the service. BUSA did with my Navi World when it when to them for warranty work. I would think Toronto would do the same.

I think it depends on the service. I dont believe they polish when regulated. Ive sent in a piece for regulation twice and neither time was a polish performed.

Mine went because the date wasn't changing. They fixed it, performed a service and polished it.

I totally agree with you Jackson. If it is broken and under guarantee it must be repaired free of charge, handling included whether it is a watch, a pen or a toaster. But it ain't what it used to be. :x
