Well it looks like I got a lot to learn about watches and photography. I took about a zillion this weekend and these were the best...still not very good. At any rate I wated to thank you guys/gals for the help in the quest for my new watch and for all the info supplied so far. Seems like the SteelFish is pretty common so nothing earth shattering here, but any pix are better than no pix right?

New kid on the block with a new burner for making beer. Since most of my home brewery is stainless this seemed like a good place to start. Wonder how well the Fish could survive the BTUs this baby puts out?


A bit closer but still not much of a watch picture, but I do like the stainless. Any brewers here?

On the lid of one of my pots. Looks like I need to clean it up before I shoot it. Man, these watches are not forgiving at all when it comes to pix. Got any advice on how to shoot them?


3 days into my ownership and I am still digging it.

Turn the flash off, use Natural lighting, macro setting on the camera. Combine that with correct angles and making sure that the light is diffused or at least not blaring directly down on the watch and your pics will improve 1000% or your money back.

Nice burner btw. We need to see some pics of that thing in action.

Here is the end of the line...8 on tap including one on Nitro at all times I'll try and dig up some of the creation process. I saved this 1961 gem from a date with the land fill. They don't build them like this anymore. I spent a few months tearing it down and making it more efficient and ready for the new millennium.

Hey man thanks, are you or were you associated with Tomcats? I was in VF-102, the Diamondbacks, from 84-88.

Unfortunately, I did not have the chance you had. I just LOOOOVE that bird and everything associated to it. I was really sorry when it had to be retired.

That is when my wife made this jacket for me. She hand sewn patches of almost every Tomcat squadron. You can see the VF-102 patch on the back. The only untimely patch is the one of the USS Ronald Reagan because when it was commissioned the Tomcat had already been retired but the Gipper is my favorite President so I had to add this patch on my jacket.



















Which type did you fly on A+ or D? And from what carrier did you operate? Were you based in San Diego? Did you fly out of Point Mugu or China Lake?

Man, all those patches bring back memories. VF-33 was our sister squadron on the USS America. I always loved the name and logo for Pukin Dogs

As mentioned, it's all about the lighting. Natural light does wonders for amateurs.
